@AgingAnarchist Broad restrictions on all gun owners isn't necessary. 99%+ of us never harm anyone in anyway with our guns. The problem is the 1%, not us and not the guns. Gun control isn't the solution to anything other than government wanting to control us.

@Ludiusvox @CRPAnews Dude. We've have beta testing teams before models being released for several years now. People are firing thousands of rounds through them. Models and groups vary, certainly. But there are some well tested models out there.

@CRPAnews Home made guns that are not made from factory machined parts are not safe. 3-D printed guns do not have the stress testing and are unsafe to fire outside of a shooting range. Yes they can function like Luigi Mangione, but as a service weapon like a Sig Saur it's no good.

The suspect did not fall within any "loophole." By all accounts he passed background checks when he purchased his guns in California, i.e., the state with some of the strictest gun laws in the country. He purchased a handgun and a pump shotgun, not the scary "assault weapons" California bans. He also transported the guns legally, based on the facts as reported so far. In sum, there is nothing that stops him getting guns and legally transporting them short of a gun ban. This falls into a similar category with the Vegas shooter; if people with totally clean records and no history of any mental problems decide to "break bad" all of a sudden, there isn't a whole hell of a lot we can do about it besides having good security.

Government administered licensing doesn't improve quality, service, or accountability. Take driving as an example of this. What licensing DOES, however, is give the state leverage over the licensed. We saw this extensively during C19 and we see it routinely, everything from a liquor license to a medical license to barber/stylist license and beyond. Dare to speak out? License is at risk. Dare to question a narrative or refuse to bend a knee? License is at risk. This is just one of many ways the state exerts force in order to keep people in line.
