The safe space has enabled the lessening of tessions and burn out associated with the election process from primarily the youth who stood for elective positions. #BeyondTheBallot

As the dust settles on the just concluded general elections, we once again took off time to have intricate conversations with the youth who participated in the just concluded elections. As a way to reinforce social equity and trust amongst winers and losers.

He further reminded them about the need to embrase decipline if they are to realise the plans they have for the young people who elected them to the positions they hold, he reminded them commit to being the first corrupt free crop of leaders the country desperately needs.

He re-echoed to the elected youth leaders to offer them selves for leadership cognizant of the changing and challenging realities of the kampala Metropolitan area. He reiterated the need for them to offer themselves for mentorship & emulating exceptional leaders they look up to.

His worship, The Lord Mayor Elect Kampala city, shared lived experiences to the incoming youth councilors. He emphasized the need for leaders to continuously seek knowledge and utilize such workshops to better them selves.#ReadyToServe

The training workshop was officially opened by the town clerk of Nakawa Division. He emphasized the need for the newly elected councilors to put aside their political differences to aid service delivery to the young people who have ushered them to their respective positions.

The training is designed to bring to the attention of the newly elected youth councilors the legal and policy architecture from which they derive the authority and power. This session was delivered by the current speaker of Kawempe Division, @harris_okampo

Meaningful Youth Participation is critical for the sustainable development of communities across the country. We have embarked on a series of training workshops designed to orient the newly elected youth councilors in Kampala Wakiso and Mukono.

To conclude the four inspiring days, students confidently presented prototypes built from the knowledge gained throughout the program. And it was equally exciting to see t/ school leadership engage w/ @OpenSpaceUganda team on expanding #STEM opportunities #PuttingDreamsInMotion

Still #PuttingDreamsInMotion, after an eventful AI session, the students jumped into the inner working of robots using robotics smart machines👾

While students initially thought AI was smarter, they got first-hand experience on how it actually works from every facial recognition to voice assistants, knowingly each relies on information that humans feed into it over time. #PuttingDreamsInMotion

In accordance with the Commission’s mandate to ensure completion of the electoral process, the polling date for Sub County, Town Council, and Municipal Division Local Government Council Elections in electoral areas where polling was not conducted or concluded has been rescheduled to Thursday, 12th March 2026.
