@PlayStation Maybe I'll be playing Campaign Evolved on a PS5 emulator in a few months. It could happen!

@ScottyDoge @CoveredGeekly Has there ever been any evidence of the jab killing people. Its always cases like "the unhealthy guy who ate mcdonalds every day for 20 years died of a heart attack, AND he got the covid shot? Clearly its the shot that killed him!"

@miniksenzu_ckpt @REFUSERADIO I didn't say therapy would make your OCD go away. I said therapy would make it so you aren't triggered as bad when you see something negative.

@OpenUpToLoveN @REFUSERADIO I have been in therapy for like 19 years off and on, like you name it I've done it. I still have OCD. Therapy doesn't make it go away. The full name of the exposure therapy modality is Exposure *Response Prevention* Therapy. It's not curable, the treatment is "try to ignore it".

@AzureLionProd I think you're be able to sue if you know who's using your art in AI. The thing is, you'd have to prove they're making money off of your work (which should be simple enough). If they simply train AI on your art style, then that's not too different than someone tracing your work.

Richard H Fay - Artist/Illustrator/Poet/Polymath
As an artist who has had his works exploited by AI, scraped by and used to train AI, without permission or compensation, I feel that generative AI is a direct attack on me and my intellectual property rights. I DO NOT consider such scraping and training to be "fair use".
Eric Bourdages@EZE3D

@sublime_physics It's taking peoples ideas and labor training algorithms on them and automating it. The content and attitudes produced have ruined peoples careers, communities, markets, motivation and opportunities. Many do feel it's a direct attack on their dreams.

@CorralSummer I understand your position, but if AI images will be created anyway, I think I'd do my best to encourage people to go to real artists to get their AI guys drawn. Then again, I know that AI images can be created ethically with local services, and others think AI = Data centers.

@billybobuiu @xergrim AI isn't killing people, and you guys hurt your arguments because you can't effectively argue against AI. Can you even tell me one issue with it?

@brovamis OP shouldn't abandon their principles, but that doesn't mean they should be immune to criticism. This is actually a really important conversation to have when you consider everything.

@Kougeru @jadel4w Data Centers aren't draining all of the worlds resources like people say they are. Data Centers can be a problem, but people have been misinformed into thinking a single image has to drain a lake of water forever, and they get angry at people who generated the image.

@jadel4w I disagree that it's "fine." AI is causing massive harm to the world in ways far worse than just copyright or looking ugly. Communities are losing their local water sources, for example. Anyone supporting AI in any way is contributing to this harm. It's morally wrong

It’s okay to reject work for any reason if you’re not comfortable with a part of the process, the client, or the request. Also, other people’s values are not a criticism of yours if different. So if this wouldn’t prevent you taking the commission then fine. But everyone has a boundary and yours might not be the same, just different. But everyone has them.

Just had to decline a Vgen request because the client sent me an AI generated reference 🥀 How hard can it be...

@jadel4w Its okay to reject any task for any reason, but that doesn't make you immune to criticism. You didn't say it does, but I feel the need to mention that because people think others literally are not allowed to say whether or not they think this is a good idea in their opinion.

@BlaziumHydro @DXFromYT @ABrinstar AI essentially works like kitbashing/photobashing, so I don't see the inherent issue with AI as long as people aren't selling it. The only answer is things like "Because AI is taking all of the water", which isn't always true. You talk like you don't understand how AI works.

@FOURTUN4TE When people say that they want to kill pedophiles, they're actually enjoying the idea of brutally maiming someone and being able to get away with it. You can tell no one on twitter actually gives a shit about stopping pedophiles because of people's responses to cases like this.

@BlaziumHydro @DXFromYT @ABrinstar Also, if the artist is afraid that the person is going to train AI with their art, they could just forbid that in the terms and conditions of the commission and take action when that's violated.

@OpenUpToLoveN @DXFromYT @ABrinstar right right... and how do you think said "asshole artists" feel when their work gets yoinked into a machine without their saying, by people who want them out of a job... or even dead? I would like to know.

@BlaziumHydro @DXFromYT @ABrinstar But we see the artists acting like assholes though, what do you mean? Its so common that people just believe all online artists are naturally douchey. I don't think that, of course, but I'm not just making stuff up.

@ZetaLogo @FraLoveland I think its due to the scenarios we see artists in. Like that one viral post where the guy was like "I've been scammed and someone made an AI version of my character, I'll pay an artist to make a real version!" and artists were like "Go fuck yourself."

@OpenUpToLoveN @FraLoveland anything may work, but what can be analysed is the current motivations and dynamics, it's perfectly reasonable to assume artists aren't going to opt for encouraging ai as a means to discourage it, but people immediately pretend it's about self-defeatism and virtue signaling
