The key thing to understand about my case against Texas Tech: obstruction is the fingerprint. If Texas Tech dismissed me on legitimate grounds, releasing the records should be no problem. Instead, they are fighting to hide everything. Why? Because of what the records show. A student complained about my tweets. The next day, the Dean of the Medical School wrote this email to senior administrators. "At our meeting can we discuss Kevin Bass and review our guidelines on professionalism... also what clerkship he is on." Four days later, Dean Berk was dead. Eight days later, professionalism complaints appeared at the exact clerkship he asked about. Curious. And that was just the beginning. This is what they are hiding. And this is why the Assistant Attorney General just revoked my right to view my own educational records under federal law. "TTUHSC will not schedule additional FERPA inspection sessions outside the litigation process at this time." He ordered me not to contact the university directly. The AAG installed himself as gatekeeper between me and my own records. For months, the only way they let me see my own records was to sit in a room under escort, on a university-controlled laptop, with no copies allowed -- handwritten notes only. Over 1,600 documents and a 14-hour hearing recording. They initially offered me one hour. Then the AAG filed my unredacted medical records on the public federal court docket for anyone to see. Read that again. They prohibited me from copying my own records during supervised inspections. Then they published the most sensitive of those same records on the public internet without my consent. I had to file an emergency motion to seal my own medical information that they put there. The institution that won't let me copy my own records has made them permanently available to the world. Now they won't even allow the supervised inspections. FERPA revoked. TPIA blocked behind the Homeland Security Act. Discovery foreclosed if they succeed in dismissing the case. I filed my state lawsuit because they refused to annotate my transcript as required by their own Student Handbook. Now the AAG says they won't process the annotation because there's a lawsuit. They created the lawsuit by refusing, then cite the lawsuit as the reason to keep refusing. Every lane of access is being shut down. That is not what an institution does when it has nothing to hide. @KenPaxtonTX @GregAbbott_TX -- this is your institution

Those who have read my book Swiftboating America know that I’ve been highly critical of John Durham for undercharging Kevin Clinesmith and letting him walk away with a slap on the wrist. But Chuck Grassley’s latest disclosure, based on an internal FBI document he has obtained, shows it was even worse than that. Clinesmith wasn’t just trimming facts or cutting corners. He was actively sabotaging the process and the people around him, systematically concealing the truth not just from the FISA court but from DOJ officials as well. And he did all of this while knowing the case against Carter Page had completely collapsed. After months of surveillance, access to Page’s communications, and even a search of his home, they found nothing. In fact, FBI investigators confirmed that Page had been telling the truth all along. The real lies came from those who fabricated the allegations in the first place, like serial fraudster Christopher Steele and his sidekick Igor Danchenko. Given the staggering corruption of Kevin Clinesmith, essentially a one-man arsonist burning down Carter Page’s life, Durham’s response is completely indefensible.

Joe Kent reveals to Tucker Carlson that claims Iran was weeks away from a nuclear weapon were false both now and last year. He says Iran may have had a religious ruling in place that prevented it from developing nuclear weapons. “No, they weren’t three weeks ago when this started, and they weren’t in June either.”

I love it when Twitter personalities try to predict what world leaders are thinking. No access to intelligence, no access to behind the scenes discussions. I think China has learned the U.S. military is a force to be reckoned with. We just blew past all their fancy radar and air defenses. If they want Taiwan, go for it.

this is something ive been thinking about a bit lately-if you are china right now watching iran's conflict with the US, what are you actively learning right now? the first critical thing china can now triply confirm from iran, venezuela, ukraine is that negotiations are not protection - they are essentially covers, and the US will consider any force concentration as a legitimate invasion trigger. that was russias troop buildup giving US six months of warning, iran's missiles movement that (supposedly) alerted US to preemptive strikes, VZ declaring nationwide state of war and deployment last year etc. yet china has prepared for this reality. china has successfully countered this with normalization over many many years of epistemological provocations. they have figured out how to make their snap drills so routine that taiwan is in a constant state of gray zone pressure; the ADIZ incursions have been running 300+/month for over two years. the erosion of judgment between training and invasion is now very real. in fact, taiwan just reported 3 days day ago that large scale chinese air force activities has returned after an unexpected absence of more than two weeks, and i dont think ppl even cared or noticed! so if the detection problem is largely solved, what does the actual campaign look like? the taiwan defense discourse today assumes that the opening act of the taiwan war will be an amphibious operation. i think that is wrong. it will likely be using the PLA rocket force that impairs taiwans ability to fight back, which has been known to be able to hit within EIGHT MINUTES. thats the time between 'missile launch detected' to 'command infrastructure destroyed.' unlike iran, which had days to reposition and distribute assets after initial strikes, taiwan's geography is its achilles heel. its small and close. intelligence estimates there is already 1k missiles across the strait. and it takes roughly 3-5 days for us carrier response from pearl harbor to the phillippine sea. the war has be determined in that window for china to have leverage. i think its fair to think that iran lost the war the moment it accepted a multi-week attrition contest against a superpower. every day the conflict continues, iran loses stockpile, command structure is falling apart, and the international community generally will come around to supporting peace operations. this mean a Taiwan campaign has to be designed for an unambiguously conclusive victory very quickly such that it can present the US with a fait accompli which forces the second question: how do you present the US with a fait accompli that it cannot reverse? because the second thing the PRC is definitely trying to figure out watching iran is how to take taipei without attacking US or partner assets. it has to be presented as: "your ally has fallen already. do you want to invade a chinese province?" to do that, they need to take down the elected government so quickly that there is no room for political continuity, as iran keeps showing what happens when the regime reconstitutes. to that effect, there is evidence over the last decade that PLA troops have a physical building mocked up to resemble the presidential office for practice. they have already been doing the groundwork. in other words, the answer china has been workingn toward is political, not military. seizing taipei means the permanent dissolution of the ROC government. because defending a democracy under attack is one thing - attacking a sovereign with a reconstituted government is another. still if you are china, you also learned a few things that should worry you: 1) us has incredible intelligence for decapitation strikes that are truly formidable and your campaign can end before you even begin, and 2) the PLA so far has been a political instrument for power consolidation, but it hasnt actually been trained for war. the truth is that to perform a 72-hour blitzkrieg requires more software than hardware, and that variable has been broken by his latest purge of highest ranking PLA officials including zhang. which goes back to reaffirm the two things you need most to win: speed and trust. so the question china has to be asking today every second is: is today the best window they will ever have to execute this 72-hour attack successfully theyve been planning for decade? the confluence of conditions is genuinely unusual - it feels at times that the speed element is on their side given the US having an exceptional confluence of mega distractions internally and in different global theatres. the real problem is trust, or the lack thereof. because of that, i do think china is not ready at this moment, but the scary thing about that conclusion is that it decisively gives china control over its own destiny, since internal preparation can be done over time through self determination. despite existing in a vacuum and i acknowledge there are so many other variables to consider in a multi-player brinkmanship, the only thing i feel certain is that if china does attack in the future, it will not look like anythingthe current taiwan defense discourse is preparing for. no d day amphibious assault. no time for international community to convene, condemn, coordinate. it will aim for an outcome so swift that will leave many americans unsure what just even happened. i think that would be the biggest takeaway from the iran situation that they would be taking away. speed matters. china does not need to win a war against the united states. it needs to win before america decides it is even in one.

Here's what happened with Rep. Summer Lee and Chairman James Comer behind closed doors during the briefing with Pam Bondi and Todd Blanche, I'm told: Lee: "Mr. Chairman, there are no cameras here. You don't have to perform. We were told this was a briefing." Comer: "It's a briefing!" Lee: "But she hasn't offered any information...This is a hearing. This is a hearing without the cameras. This is a hearing without C-SPAN. And it's a hearing without the public. So, what I'm asking is...." Comer: "You want me to scoot some chairs around and make a circle. Would that make it feel more like a briefing?" Lee: "I would like C-SPAN. I would like you to bring the transcribers. I would like you to go through with the decorum and with the rules...." Comer: "Are you trying to find information, or trying to embarrass the attorney general?" Lee: "Absolutely not. I think the attorney general is a woman who is completely able to defend herself, and I'm not attacking her. I'm questioning you. You run this place. What I'm asking you is....Will you commit to going as far as..." Comer: "I've already issued the subpoena..." Lee: "And this is not the deposition..." Comer: "You've wasted three minutes of everyone's time just kind of, bitching..." Lee: "Really? Wow! Bitching?"

This is so true. I moved to the Philippines and my quality of life is dramatically improved and not just financial. The divisiveness in the U.S. is non-existent here. The people, although poor by western standards, seem much happier living a simple life filled with family and friends. Everyone seems to want to help. My mental state is so much happier.

Some people believe their quality of life will always be higher in a richer country. But our quality of life is made up of two parts: 1. Quality of comfort (convenience in daily life) 2. Sense of belonging (purpose and long-term potential). A poor country that gives its people a future will always be more livable than a rich country that erodes its people’s hope.

I have just spoken with the Emir of Qatar and President Trump following the strikes that hit gas production facilities in Iran and Qatar today. It is in our common interest to implement, without delay, a moratorium on strikes targeting civilian infrastructure, particularly energy and water supply facilities. Civilian populations and their essential needs, as well as the security of energy supplies, must be protected from military escalation.
