For over a decade, I have lived and breathed Bitcoin—not as an investment, not as a trade, but as a way of life. I watched the hard forks, the ego trippers, the cash grabs, the opportunists who tried to mold Bitcoin into something it was never meant to be. I watched people chase power, creating their own chains, their own systems, always believing they could do better—yet always falling into the same traps that led to the 2008 collapse in the first place. They never learned. Because they never let go of ego. Bitcoin was born, like Occupy Wall Street, from the ashes of a financial system built on corruption and manipulation. It was never meant to be a tool for the same forces that enslaved us in the first place. It was a revolution, a quiet, unstoppable revolution, built by those who were willing to risk everything to see a new world emerge. To truly live on a Bitcoin standard, to have all your savings in Bitcoin, to relinquish all external income, is to undergo ego death. You no longer think in fiat terms. You no longer chase short-term wins. You are forced to think in decades, in centuries. You see through the noise, the distractions, the shiny new coins and chains that promise easy gains but only lead back to the same system we were trying to escape. Integrity is everything. If you bend the knee to easy money, to shortcuts, to short-term glory over long-term truth, you were never really here for the revolution. Bitcoin requires no leaders, no idols, no egos. It only requires conviction. Hold the line. Stay the course. The system will fall. And when it does, only those who held firm will build what comes next.
Coinjoined Chris ⚡@coinjoined

We had a good thing, you stupid son of a bitch! We had the chance to slash the state, to build something real. And it was working! You could've stayed the course, wielded your chainsaw and made history. But no! You just had to shill a Solana rugpull. You and your pride and your ego!

With all due respect Saj, I’ve watched you school shitcoiners for over a decade, I can’t imagine you’d condone ordinals, runes or other affinity scams. If my reasoning is wrong, I’m not afraid to admit I was wrong if game theory doesn’t play out as I am expecting it will, spam should be addressed appropriately and discouraged as it always has been in the past.

Maya, respectfuly, some battles are better fought when they are well understood, i'm telling you like i told you before, you are getting mislead, if you understood how bitcoin consensus mechanisms work, you would understand how silly your reasoning is, I know you want to do well but you missing some crucial knowledge. Hope you will see the light before it's too late.

Venezuela. The bolívar is worthless. Twitter is banned. Political opposition means prison. Leopoldo López and the WLC are building the tools to fight back. Agora is one of them.

@MayaPar25 There are millions of Strategy shareholders who would have their fortunes destroyed if that were to happen...and you're hoping for it? Seriously?

Luckily, I don’t consider myself a politician, but a Bitcoiner, so I don’t care about the politics or optics. I don’t consider it a clown show either. I don’t consider @LukeDashjr or @hodlonaut clowns, and I take their arguments as seriously as I’ve considered the opposing ones. I’ve watched the Wall Street playbook exerted on Bitcoin for as long as I can remember: forkcoins, altcoins, shitcoins, NFTs, rare sats, and treasury COs. I’ve seen bad actors like Bailey obfuscate and manipulate the narrative and dilute what Bitcoin actually is. No wonder he paid off my security detail to derail the campaign, steal funds, and then publish pure fabrications by the same team he paid off, just to prevent another Bitcoin country from happening and protect his own interests. And to hear Paolo say he’s pushing USD hegemony shortly after, the same guy you crowned a new Cypherpunk, is all about global state capture. I would love to see you all actively spend resources on development and projects that increase adoption versus generating fiat gains by fleecing retail investors.

UASF means User Activated Soft Fork. The “U” stands for users running nodes and enforcing the rules they choose to accept. It does not mean a small group of exchanges, companies, miners, or developers deciding on behalf of everyone else. If consensus is determined by a handful of institutions, that’s not a user-activated system, it’s much closer to a federation. Bitcoin’s security model depends on the ability of individual node operators to independently verify and enforce the rules of the network. “A User-Activated Soft Fork (UASF) is enforced by the economic majority (full nodes), bypassing miner approval. A User-Accepted Soft Fork relies on miners signaling readiness, with users passively accepting once the upgrade is locked in. In a User-Activated Soft Fork (UASF): •The Process: Full nodes and users coordinate to reject any blocks that do not adhere to the newly upgraded rules, entirely ignoring miner signaling. •The Goal: It strips the power to dictate the upgrade timeline away from mining pools and places it into the hands of the economic majority. •Real-World Example: The 2017 Bitcoin UASF (BIP 148) forced the activation of Segregated Witness (SegWit) by penalizing miners who refused to support the new rules. In a Miner-Activated Soft Fork (UASF / User-Accepted Soft Fork): •The Process: Miners signal their readiness to adopt the new rules by updating their node configurations. Once a required threshold of hash power (e.g., 95%) is reached, the upgrade activates. •The Goal: This method ensures network continuity and hash-power support are firmly in place before enforcing stricter rules, relying on the user base accepting miners' readiness signals.”

the merge did not reflect rough consensus in the IETF sense, where minority objections are expected to be seriously addressed before declaring consensus. The IETF explicitly describes rough consensus as more than majority support; it requires that objections be heard and resolved where possible. As far as I’m aware Core has never formally adopted IETF.

Bitcoin Mechanic on the people who say node runners are against the free market: "Bitcoin is nothing but rules. 21 million is a rule. There's a reason that you have savings now. There's a reason that you have a future. It's because of a rule being enforced. That's freedom. If you're going to be so puerile in your worldview that you cannot reconcile the fact that freedom can come from a rule enforced by a non-tyrannical, disparate group, then you're not capable of understanding Bitcoin at an adult level. You don't get rid of all the rules of the protocol and then say the free market will sort it out. It doesn't work like that." @GrassFedBitcoin on The @_BitcoinMatrix #283. Notice the last sentence in this... "That's a cool feature until it gets popular and somebody decides it would be fun to flood the payment network with millions of transactions to transfer the latest Lady Gaga video to all their friends... That's one of the reasons for transaction fees. There are other things we can do if necessary." - Satoshi Nakamoto

I hate to say this but normies are never going to use Nostr until the nostr devs figure out how to get nostr to work better. I’ve spent probably 100+ hours trying to get different Nostr clients to work and I still can’t get them to function half the time.

Bitcoin Mechanic on the state's blind spot: "The state is looking at Bitcoin like: I don't know how to control this thing. People are moving money around without permission. Someone just sent a million dollars from this address to that address — I don't know who address A was, I don't know who address B was, I couldn't stop the transaction. They paid 30 cents in fees, and now it's moving again, through a coin join. And it's just looking around like: who do I target? Who do I throw in jail? And there's no one they can target. If you want to do anything else with money — spend 20 cents on a pack of gum — they want to know about it, throw you in jail over it, investigate you. They're control freaks who want to enslave the whole population. But with Bitcoin, they just don't know who to actually target." @GrassFedBitcoin on The @_BitcoinMatrix #283.
