This is an all time wild rant. Syracuse Women’s coach complaining that they keep losing to UConn in the East bracket. 😂😂😂

@stoolpresidente Yall aren’t getting it. It doesn’t make sense to pair the same team almost every year. She has a point. Maryland is always in UConn’s bracket too. Screw the proximity preference, pair up different teams.

.@GovPritzker, I saw your post honoring lives lost in Minnesota—standing publicly, naming Alex Pretti and Renee Good, and laying flowers in their memory. But where was that same compassion on January 19, 2025? That is the day my 20-year-old daughter, Katie Abraham, was killed here in Illinois. She was innocent. She did not knowingly put herself in the middle of an ongoing law enforcement situation. She was not making a dangerous choice. She was simply living her life—and it was taken from her. You have never said her name. You have never come to where she died. You have never acknowledged her publicly. And beyond that—you have never even responded to me. I sent you a simple, non-political letter. Not for attention. Not for headlines. Just a father asking for clarity, for answers, and for understanding of the state’s position. You never replied. And now, in the wake of another tragedy here in Chicago, your public display of compassion elsewhere—while remaining silent about victims in your own state—feels deeply disconnected from the reality families like mine are living every day. Instead, you continue to defend sanctuary policies that create the conditions where preventable tragedies like hers can happen. This is not about politics. It’s about leadership and accountability. When you choose to publicly mourn some victims while remaining silent about others—especially those lost under policies you support—it sends a message. Whether intentional or not, it tells families like mine that our loss does not matter the same way. So I am asking you directly: Where is your compassion for my daughter? Where is your acknowledgment of victims here in Illinois? And when will you take responsibility for the consequences of the policies you defend? Say her name: Katie Abraham. Stand where she died. Show the people of Illinois that every life matters.
Governor JB Pritzker@GovPritzker

Standing with Minnesotans tonight and paying my respects to Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

@RedbirdFarmhand Church should be in center and Velazquez in left. Scott is the one who should be on the bench or AAA. Church is a better fielder and hitter

As much as the Nelson Velázquez news is surprising I'm not against giving Saggese and Church the first crack at that left field in the absence of Nootbaar. Church has worked his butt off to even get to this point, and Saggese has deserved a consistent chance for a while now. For Fermin, he has a personality that the Cardinals really like, "glue" type of guy, which is valuable in that last bench spot (also had a .794 OPS in 30 games last season)

@RobDauster They lost two starters and the 6th man for 2 months. If Duke didn’t have boozer, foster, or khamenia what would be expected of them?

Iowa State beating Kentucky by 20 plus without their All-American should be surprising, but it isn’t. It is telling. Of the importance of roster fit, culture and development. They lost a star, but he was just a cog in the machine. Thats how a team with ~1/3 of the NIL can win a game like that.

@RaphealDavis3 It’s not NIL. It’s NIL plus being allowed to freely transfer. More guys would stay mid major even at a discount if they had to sit a year to go to a high major school.

Saying NIL killed the mid majors is lazy. Dudes have been getting paid long before NIL came around.

There's disincentive to leave in every profession. Pro athletes have buyouts. Coaches have buyouts. Most industries have non-competes. Making transfers sit a year isn't the answer. But transfer fees? That might work, and it would give mid-majors some money to go out and add players/retain them. Buyouts written into multi-year contracts would help too, especially if schools actually have the balls to enforce them.
Rapheal Davis@RaphealDavis3

I do not understand why people want players to sit out a year for leaving, but not Coaches.

Who is 1 former Illini that you’d put on this current roster? Mine, TSJ. Add another wing-shooting threat/downhill driver and transition demon to this team for a national title.
