Stove needs a wipe, but I marinated skirt steak overnight. And seared it. Now I am sauteing onions and peppers in butter and steak fat.. Made homemade guac. And I'm gonna bring these kids together for some nachos.

Post-resignation day 7: This is going to be an emotional rollercoaster. One minute, I'm relieved; the next, worried. Excited, and then terrified. One great night's sleep, followed by a sleepless night. But I know it's going to be OK.

On Monday, I will resign from my job as an IT executive. I’ve led a large team for several years. Soon after arriving, I realized the role was not what I expected and the environment was unhealthy. Instead of leaving, I chose to view the situation as a challenge. Over time, I shifted from trying to improve the situation to focusing on supporting my employees as best I could, often at my own expense. Last week, however, I found myself unable to protect them any longer. That moment came when I had to lay off an employee and friend of 25 years, with no involvement in the decision. I lost any sense of purpose. So on Monday, I will walk in and resign. I expect that over the next several months, many more will follow, though I realize the company may not care unless it impacts the bottom line. But my wife and family, my purpose, will care.
