I've talked about my son Jaydon who is autistic. Well... Jaydon is 8 years old. And for a long time, he could not speak. But my boy can play the piano by ear. All he has to do is listen and then get on the piano and play it out. He can draw. He just has to look at it and then boom. He has been able to mold the human skeleton, the human digestive system and also the heart. But words... they didn't come to him naturally. Till date, he doesn't say much. Backstory... We first noticed something was off when he was around 2 or 3. The silence in the house was very loud. My wife still says "We were deceived by Jaydon and now we have one (his sister) who talks all the time." Before we even got to the gut side of things, there was something else. When we called his name, he would not turn. Nothing. No response. Nada! So when he was about two and a half, I started doing something simple. Anytime I called his name and he did not respond, I would make a sound with whatever was close by. Tap a table. Knock on something. Just enough to get his attention. Then I would call his name again. I kept doing that over and over. Day after day. What I was really doing was helping him connect the sound of his name with the act of turning. And slowly, he started turning. That alone felt like a miracle. We didn't stop praying also. We don't know where we got the strength to continue. But we did. Later, we saw a naturopathic doctor, and that opened another door for us. We discovered he had candida overgrowth and gut issues. And that was a turning point. One thing with children on the spectrum, the problem is deeper than what you can see on the surface. Sometimes the body is dealing with things the child cannot explain. So we got to work. We dealt with the candida. We focused on healing his gut. We used the supplements we were given. We added MCT oil. We changed his food. We cut down sugar. And we stayed consistent, even when it felt like nothing was changing. There are things Jaydon cannot eat at home. His diet is soooo limited. It's actually sad. But we keep at it. It took about a full year. A whole year of discipline, prayer, faith, and showing up for a little boy who could not tell us what he felt or what he needed. Cooking everyday because he had histamine issues also. Baking our own cookies and muffins. Using Pamela's. This is where my wife is jealous because I bake better than her. Lol Then one day, he said: “Jaydon hungry.” After that came: “No school tomorrow?” And then: “Yay, we did it!” Every time a new month begins. Now when I call his name, he says, “Yes Daddy.” When his mum calls him, he says, “Yes Mummy.” Recently, grandma asked him on the phone, “How are you?” And he answered, “Good.” Quietly. Gently. But he said it. My boy. God is faithful. Every autistic child is different, so I am not saying this is everybody’s story. But I am saying this... if your child is on the spectrum, do not ignore the body. Look deeper. Ask questions. Check the gut. Pay attention to inflammation. Pay attention to the things people sometimes dismiss. A child may not always have the words to tell you what is wrong. But the body has a way of speaking. For those of you with autistic kids, do not stop until somebody listens. Do not stop, until God shows the way. Above all, put God first because he will guide you.

A lot of “mental load” arguments are really about unfinished systems more often than people want to admit. The real issue usually is not that one person did one task and the other didn’t. It’s that one person is still carrying the tracking, remembering, noticing, and follow-up for everything in the house. That gets heavy fast. The fix is getting more of the invisible work out of one person’s head and into something shared.

It's one thing to say older devices don't support some new feature or service or operating system. But to make the deliberate choice to brick a device that's working perfectly well, in order to force your customer to buy a new one, is a hostile act of predatory capitalism.

In an email to customers, Amazon announced that it would be ending service for Kindle devices older than the 2012 edition. Those devices will lose access to the Kindle Store. wired.com/story/amazon-p…

2013, there simply wasn’t enough demand for our products in Ogba. After 3 years, we had burned through our cash, revenue was low, and the business was unprofitable. My wife and I were now dipping into our savings and salaries. So we had a serious sit down, and I thought it might be time to shut it down. But the numbers revealed something interesting, demand was coming from somewhere else. We figured if we just went there, we could revive the business. So we did the most counterintuitive thing, we raised more capital and moved to Ikoyi, August 2013. And boom, in less than 3 months, we quadrupled revenue and broke even. That, my people, is why there’s a So Fresh @sofreshng_co today. Looking back, we didn’t almost fail because the idea was bad, we almost failed because: - Wrong place. - Wrong timing. - Wrong customer. Sometimes, the business isn’t the problem, context is, so you have to stay flexible, agile, understand the numbers behind your business and be ready to adapt or pivot.

One of the things I hated most in my 9–5 days was that I not only had to do the work well, but I also had to talk about it. I had to be visible, be likeable, socialize, speak up, send it as a mail, toot my own horn and sometimes straight up eye service. Lo and behold, I became an entrepreneur and thought all I had to do was make great products and push the company. Alas, it doesn’t always work that way. Now as an entrepreneur it's founder-led marketing, tell your story, because people buy from who they like, be a thought leader, be visible for your customer … and so forth and so on. My brothers and sisters, you cannot escape visibility. Nobody wakes up thinking about you or your products. It’s your job to interrupt their day, present yourself, and make yourself an option for your boss, your customer and other stakeholders. Go and be visible.

“Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; he who exhorts, in exhortation; HE WHO GIVES, WITH LIBERALITY; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.” Romans 12:6, 8 NKJV “And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, HELPS, administrations, varieties of tongues.” I Corinthians 12:28 NKJV The problem is; we often do not reckon and appreciate the fact that helping people in whatever forms is actually a ministry, we don’t value it because it is silent, it does not come with loud demonstrations and respect like working miracles, speaking in tongues and all…. If you don’t give when you have little, you cannot give when you have enough. The early Christians were literally promiscuous with their money! Being wicked with your money while rising is worldly wisdom, it’s logical and reasonable to natural men, but Christians don’t move this way!

The simple act of holding your baby close at night might be the most powerful developmental tool in your parenting arsenal. Scientific research highlights that consistent, safe physical proximity during sleep deeply influences a child's physiological and psychological foundation. When infants experience frequent skin-to-skin contact, their bodies release oxytocin—often called the "love hormone"—which actively lowers cortisol levels and stabilizes their heart rate and breathing. This hormonal cascade not only soothes a fussy baby but also accelerates neural pathway formation during critical windows of early brain development. Pediatric experts emphasize that these prolonged periods of physical reassurance effectively train a developing nervous system to self-regulate. Rather than creating clingy habits, this consistent comfort actually fosters intense emotional resilience and profound long-term independence. Beyond the brain, this close contact acts as a natural shield, stimulating the baby's immune system and promoting a healthier gut microbiome. By regulating their body temperature and breathing rhythms through parental mirroring, babies can dedicate more metabolic energy to physical growth and fighting off early childhood illnesses. It is crucial to remember that maximizing this beneficial touch should always be balanced with safe sleep guidelines, such as room-sharing with a bedside bassinet to prevent accidental injury. Ultimately, prioritizing safe, frequent nighttime closeness builds an unbreakable bond of trust that shapes a child's confidence for decades. Did you choose to room-share with your little one, and how did that closeness affect your bond during those early months?

One of my "If he wanted to, he would" stories is that while I was at the hospital waiting during my husband's 8+ hour spinal surgery, I received a series of scheduled texts from him with the names and addresses of book stores, craft stores, and restaurants that were near the hospital and reminders to eat and that he was excited to get out of surgery and see me again.

When someone you love offers a bid for connection, you say yes every time. When someone sends you an article, a video, a funny post, it’s a bid for connection. They are trying to connect with you. When someone shares details about their day, their life, their thoughts, or their feelings with you, that is a bid for connection. They want to connect with you on a deeper level. They are trying to pull you into their world. If you love them, you say yes every time. Yes, even if the article they send is not particularly interesting to you. Yes, even if it means listening to them ramble about a game you don’t care about and think is stupid. Yes yes yes. And let’s hope they always say yes to your bids, too. — Unknown

Let the minister beware when the sight of empty seats begins to trouble his soul more than the absence of conviction among the people. For it is better that men depart wounded by truth than remain comforted in error.

One thing I have learned running a household is that dinner is not a 5 PM problem. Dinner is a much earlier decision than most people think. If nobody knows what the plan is by midafternoon, the whole evening starts getting more expensive and more annoying. A lot of bad nights are really just delayed decisions.
