Italian taxi drivers just happen to live in the same city with the Pope, they have no fear of God kankan! Came out of the airport and this taxi driver started hustling me in a manner reminiscent of Lagos and Cairo airport drivers. I ignored him and ordered my Uber jejely as I don’t like using taxis due to safety issues and not wanting to haggle over prices in languages I don’t speak. Anyways the uber guys keep delaying and I have to go back to this taxi guy. I warned him I am only going to pay for a metered ride and I have checked in Uber and it’s about 40 minutes , and 60 euros to my hotel. Anyways ride started, showed me the meter and as ‘ase economy lo nwo’, I slept off immediately only to wake up and we are at hotel and meter is reading 232 euros. Ha! Have we crossed over to the UK abi I entered the Eurostar ni? Alakori ti fi owo yi meter niwaju Vatican. E si beru Olorun! Anyways I refuse to pay 232 Euros and he starts shouting and I burst into laughter. You want to use shouting to threaten a Nigerian who also lived in Cairo? Something that is a hobby we do just to greet friends ? Someone that grew up with generators and had to shout above their noise? An Awo Hall ex-resident seasoned in Aro! Abegi try another tactic. Anyways he calls his comrades on the phone who all support him and say I should pay a discounted 150 euros. I tell him to return me to the airport or he should call the police. Bello ni last name mi, gbogbo wa la jo ni Italo. So he starts driving off with me and I chill and then he stops after 5 mins asking me to come down. I refused and he starts pleading ok how much do I want to pay. Oga what is the correct fare, they didn’t scam me in Nigeria and I would be going against the national anthem if I allow you to scam me in Rome. Anyways he returned me back to the hotel and i paid 100 Euros as he was now gentle and asking me where I am from. I have not even settled to look for Amala in Rome and they are stressing me already. Let us respect ourselves o.

The man went ahead to buy his trucks and hire his drivers, now you want his drivers to be members of NUPENG. You want to control his business and use needless strike actions to frustrate him.

This day last year, I left my house employed and returned unemployed. According to my employer, I was laid off for being “not suitable for this role.” But deep down, I knew that wasn’t the case. The whole saga started after I asked about visa sponsorship.
