For those curious, I did end up making a pull request with my edits on the new OpenIris re-write repo, purely so the edit is more accessible to others. I still do not believe it is the best solution, but then again, I'm not getting paid to figure it out.

I can tell more people are finally getting their Babble, as some are finding out it doesn't natively work with the Quest Pro's IR LEDs.
Now that people are complaining about this known issue, maybe they'll finally look into the workaround I found and pointed out 9 months ago..

Last time I messed with it rotation was a lil funky, but I'm sure the settings could be played with to make it very aggressive with an extremely short leash
That's all just a workaround theory tho
English

@Ratty_Bat Then, use the LeashOSC prefab to actually 'move' your capsule to where ever your head is.

@sarada_jpn This is the new EyeTrackVR OpenIris firmware: github.com/EyeTrackVR/Ope…
I'm currently installing it to see what edits I need to make to bring the changes over.
But sadly this new one is more obtuse than the old one lmao
English

@sarada_jpn Without modifying the firmware, you can either use the Quest Pro's facetracking or the Babble's, not both :<
Sadly the clock frequencies are too different causing the flickering
The modifications to be made are simple, but setting up the environment is not and takes a while.
English

@sarada_jpn - with the official Babble you may encounter issues combining the IR LEDs from both devices! Just something to be note of!
English

@sarada_jpn I have not used the official Babble tracker, only DIY ESP32S3, so you may need to experiment with brining my small edit to the new OpenIris Firmware!
The changes to the old OpenIris firmware I made was to reduce the camera clock speed to match the IR LEDs of the Quest Pro, but-

@AudacityVRC The person being muted needs install it on their avatar, so they must think it's a pretty cool idea :D
Plus it uses Avatar Dynamics, so it integrates with the existing safety features VRC implements, like being able to turn off interactions individually, or on for only friends!
English

@AudacityVRC Yes but that only mutes them on your local client! This is for folks around their friends to be 'mute/muffle' by other friends, and have that person's voice muted/muffled for all friends around :D
English

@OrendCross No I can literally select anyone in a world and use my menu to mute them. No moderation no admin. This is a feature of VRChat.
English

@AudacityVRC Well you need to be a moderator of an instance to properly mute someone in the same way, but this is just a more silly, superficial way of doing that around friends 🤭
English

@OrendCross Ummm. Muting someone is a standard feature of VRChat and does not require a third party application. You have created a needless product, and in one sentence proven why. You created a third party application for something that already exists as a permanent feature.
English

@DogAdjacent @AudacityVRC Yee exactly! ^.^ at the moment the only way to activate it yourself is with an optional override toggle!
English

@AudacityVRC @OrendCross the point is to allow others to mute you, I don't believe you can mute yourself with it unless you modified it anyways

【VRChat Asset】VoiceMuffler | Muffle/mute voice on contact! No external program required! Available now on Booth/Jinxxy 🔗⬇️
English

@AudacityVRC It's just a cute lil way to be muted/muffled by your friends using avatar interactions!
By default there's no way to have others mute you without using external programs, so this condenses that into a drag-and-drop avatar asset that also plays cute noises!
English

@OrendCross Can I ask why someone might use this? I am having trouble seeing a use case beyond muting yourself, so like why would I use this over just muting normally?
