@lawtonpybus @Stokes_UX IDK whether it’s better or worse for career growth & stability if we specialize. Just speaking to the mindset separation can sometimes result in. I will also say, I don’t think this continuum is well-understood by UXRs at all
English

@lawtonpybus @Stokes_UX Great find! ITA it’s not helpful to draw such a hard line between qual & quant. I’ve experienced qual UXRs not wanting to count anything or even hint at effect sizes and which can make it difficult for stakeholders to understand the impact or even digest the results

@utsengar @jessperate Yep. I used to work in B2B govtech and “extreme flexibility” was the main strategy. We don’t know what people want to do in this workflow? Just have them create it themselves from scratch. Problem solved!
English

@OrigamiUx @jessperate Yeah that’s a typical problem where end user is not the buyer.
And the buyer optimizes for extremely flexibility and then end users suffer. Many enterprise apps fit that definition ;)
English

@jessperate @utsengar I have never seen this app but it’s one (of the eleventy-eight sites/apps) my kids’ school uses and their teachers strongly dislike it. Not sure why but seems like it may need improvement with the teacher persona
English

@jessperate I could rant about this all day long and would gladly be part of a solution. I’m convinced these platforms are negatively impacting this generation’s development of organizational skills. Schoology in particular

Once again, #UX and #ProductDesign friends, I need your help:
If you graduated from a University Design or UX program* — and feel it prepared you well — please share it here in the comments.

The most insane thing I ever saw during my time in public safety #govtech was a person passed out in a fountain at a user conference. Didn’t realize I should be grateful no weapons were involved. #wtf
