@lawtonpybus @Stokes_UX IDK whether it’s better or worse for career growth & stability if we specialize. Just speaking to the mindset separation can sometimes result in. I will also say, I don’t think this continuum is well-understood by UXRs at all

@lawtonpybus @Stokes_UX Great find! ITA it’s not helpful to draw such a hard line between qual & quant. I’ve experienced qual UXRs not wanting to count anything or even hint at effect sizes and which can make it difficult for stakeholders to understand the impact or even digest the results

Is the usability lab dead? The prevalence of remote work and unmoderated online methods have left many wondering how labs will fit into research practices moving forward.

@utsengar @jessperate Yep. I used to work in B2B govtech and “extreme flexibility” was the main strategy. We don’t know what people want to do in this workflow? Just have them create it themselves from scratch. Problem solved!

@OrigamiUx @jessperate Yeah that’s a typical problem where end user is not the buyer. And the buyer optimizes for extremely flexibility and then end users suffer. Many enterprise apps fit that definition ;)

Who wants to partner with me to create the best LMS for schools? My girls' school uses a tool called Schoology and it is hot garbage to put it nicely.

@jessperate @utsengar I have never seen this app but it’s one (of the eleventy-eight sites/apps) my kids’ school uses and their teachers strongly dislike it. Not sure why but seems like it may need improvement with the teacher persona

@jessperate I could rant about this all day long and would gladly be part of a solution. I’m convinced these platforms are negatively impacting this generation’s development of organizational skills. Schoology in particular

I go through all the “it’s not fraud” steps and try delta again. It seems to work. I get an email receipt. Also get a 2nd text saying I need to call Delta or it may get declined again. All this because you can’t add a new credit card in a checkout flow when you have saved cards

I’m now yelling at no one and taking notes because I know I’m going to rant about this online. In switching to my notes app I notice I have a text. My phone was on DND so I had missed it. It’s my credit card letting me know of suspected fraud with Delta. They declined my card…
