I have a massive chemistry 2 midterm today that ive been really stressed over. Spent all waking moments studying the last 2 weeks, not even working out, no streaming, no friends, missed opportunities so I can study. Please wish me luck. Its worth 30% of my entire grade. Ahhh

Wave XLR Pro is not an audio interface. It's a full audio mixer with dual XLR inputs, onboard DSP via Wave FX Processor, audio routing through Wave Link, and Standalone Mode so your mix keeps running even when your PC is off. Learn more about what Wave XLR Pro is capable of: e.lga.to/s/Wave-XLR-Pro

I’m curious if you would be stable putting the 5080 back in now that you are using a powered USB hub for all the USB things. The other question that comes to mind with the 5080 is what PSU you have and its rating. But I also know the 50xx cards have been hit and miss for many too.

Ive gotten some DMs and comments about this and the last 2 months I have not crashed at all. If youre experiencing the same thing I did, here are the two things I did that seemed to have fixed it entirely: - Switched my brand new 5080 Graphics Card back to the 3080GPU - Switched my usb hub to a powered USB hub Ive had no crashes in 2 months, which is insane for my track record. I hope this is helpful to others experiencing the same thing. I had worked for a year on fixes, moved houses, Switched internet, spent lots of money, a whole new build... and nothing worked until this.

@WATCHHOLLIE That’s literally why I stream. For fun. I have a very full-time day job, side, hustle, and raising to amazing kiddos with my better half. Streaming is literally for funsies for. I just get the luxury of applying my professional live audio skills to it 😂

I think youd be surprised at how many people dont care about numbers and just want to stream for fun. If it happens, cool. If not, we had a fun time. 🌻

Personal preference plays heavily - how you want to sculpt your sound. Inuse an SM7B as well, but I tend to be “straight on” and fairly close (broadcaster position, almost. I’m not quite “eating it” and am just outside the proximity effect distance). BUT, I’m also very conscious about controlling my plosives when speaking (and then there’s the very well tuned compressor in play because reasons 🤣).

@OrionFireBlade I hear ya! Even with SM7B microphones, my own personal microphone, talking across from it will soften the Bs and Ps. I still recommend not talking straight down the tube. Its a personal preference, but i personally recommend it for most all microphones to avoid the pop sound

🎙️ Your microphone may not be the problem. Your room probably is. A $100 microphone in a treated room can sound better than a $500 microphone in an echoey one. Here's how to improve your audio without buying a new mic: • Add soft surfaces like rugs, curtains, blankets, or furniture to absorb sound. • Avoid sitting in the center of an empty room. • Don't sit right next to a bare wall. • Use acoustic foam panels. • Turn off fans, AC units, and anything that creates constant background noise. • Get your mic close to your mouth (4–8 inches) so you don't have to crank up the gain. • Speak across the microphone, not directly into it Before you spend hundreds on a new microphone, spend 10 minutes improving your room. Your viewers will hear the difference.

@KennyRoy Anyone wanting to chase the dream should do so. But they should do it with eyes wide open. After all, this just another sector of the Entertainment Business.

Twitch does not need you to become a star; it needs you to believe you might. If 20 viewers makes you top 1%, then Twitch’s creator dream is not a ladder. It is a lottery ticket. One that millions are buying and never win. I’m not talking to people who stream casually, socially, or purely for fun. If you go live because you enjoy it, with no expectation of growth or income, this is not aimed at you. But if you are posting TikToks, Shorts, Reels, clips, X posts, schedules, thumbnails, Discord announcements and “going live” graphics, then there is some expectation of outcome. That is not a flaw. That means you are taking your work seriously. And this is where the Twitch dream starts to collapse. If having more than 19 viewers puts you in the top 1%, then “anyone can be a star” is not really advice. It is a recruitment slogan. Because Twitch does not need millions of people to become stars. Twitch needs millions of people to believe they might. It needs them clipping, posting, networking, optimizing, grinding, learning hooks, studying retention, chasing trends, and pushing audiences from TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and X back into Twitch. That labor has enormous value. But once the viewer arrives, Twitch owns the recommendation layer. Twitch owns the sidebar. Twitch owns the homepage. Twitch owns the redirect. Twitch owns the next click. So your marketing may grow your channel a little. But it grows Twitch every time. And when the numbers are this brutally concentrated, the public advice starts to look very different. “Market yourself everywhere” is not just creator education. It is unpaid platform acquisition. Again, this does not mean you should stop creating. It does not mean your work has no value. It does not mean your community is not real. It means the difficulty you feel is not imagined. And if you have ever told yourself “I’m just doing it for fun” after spending hours editing clips you hoped would bring people over, I don’t think that makes you dishonest. I think it means you found a way to protect yourself from a system that keeps asking for your effort while making meaningful growth feel almost impossible. That is the part we are supposed to stop noticing. The dream is that anyone can become the next huge streamer. The business model is that almost nobody will, but millions will market the platform trying.
Del@TheCartelDel

Most do. If you have 19+ viewers on Twitch you are in the top 1% of viewership.
