An 'exhausted' Eluned Morgan accidentally said "vote Plaid Cymru" during a week-to-go Senedd Election event. The First Minister and leader of Welsh Labour made the slip-up during a campaign event at Barry Island's bandstand on Thursday (30 April). Ending a speech to party members, she said: "For fairness you can feel, vote Welsh Labour in the election next week." She followed up in Welsh by adding: "Pleidleisiwch Plaid Cymru..." meaning "Vote Plaid Cymru", but corrected herself immediately to say "Plaid Lafur" (Labour Party), which was met with laughs and claps by party members. Speaking to ITV Wales' National Correspondent Rob Osborne, the First Minister said: "We're all a little bit exhausted, once you switch into Welsh the word 'Cymru' comes off your lips. #itvnews #politics #wales #walesdecides2026

EXCLUSIVE: A retired headteacher - once arrested and prosecuted campaigning for the creation of S4C was interrupted on that same channel 46 years later while trying to share his political views. This clip is from Y Ddadl Fawr on S4C, broadcast last Thursday, 23 April 2026. Rhodri Sion wrote: “In 1980 I took a stand for Cymdeithas yr Iaith and was arrested (and prosecuted) while fighting to secure the S4C channel. Strange world just over 40 years later, the same channel last night did its best to stop me from sharing my political ideas.”

For @WelshGovernment 20mph wasn't about safety, it's part of a comprehensive strategy to put an end to private car ownership. Because the Globalists want us confined in 15-minute cities. gov.wales/promoting-awar…

EXCLUSIVE 🚨 Our Plaid Cymru insiders confirmed today that they have no realistic way to pay for their manifesto without more money from Westminster. The party knows this, but won't tell voters. Classic smoke and mirrors from them.

Are you farming in Ceredigion or Pembrokeshire? Then here are THREE reasons why you should vote for me and the @WelshConserv 💙

Most of our followers won’t be familiar with “Mistar Urdd”. It’s the mascot of the “Urdd”, a Welsh language movement for children. Spot the inappropriate trans flag in the background. There’s something very rotten about this.

To the 80-minute nationalists who derive their Welshness from daffodil hats yet pour scorn on genuine expressions of Welsh culture and identity, such as its language, literature, music, politics, and religious heritage, your time is up ✍️ Matt Howells wp.me/p8Mk4U-1fc3

Plaid Cymru has been strongly criticised for skipping a key round table event with Welsh business leaders the day after a new Senedd poll revealed the party is surging ahead of Reform UK✍️ Emily Price wp.me/p8Mk4U-1cLK

Breakdown of how the micro-parties in Wales are doing. Of 1220 people polled: > 4 Gwlad (Nationalist Centre-Right) > 3 Abolish the Assembly (Clue in Name) > 1 Propel (Chaotic Online) > 0 UKIP > 11 Other Independent I might be able to guess the identity of the Propel voter.

It’s alarming to see large parts of the Welsh media cosying up to Plaid Cymru ahead of the Senedd election. It exposes how deeply entrenched separatist, left wing sympathisers are within our media, pushing a one sided narrative. People deserve fair, balanced, and impartial coverage not political cheerleading.
