This is something that is not advertised enough & can save homes & lives. It's also the kind of thing that should be taught in #school & #work #safety courses, & as real life examples illustrating & making things like physics easier to understand. #Ottawa #Canada #winter #heating

With cold weather, it brings space heaters. They CANNOT be plugged into power strips or extension cords. Plug space heaters directly into the wall outlet. Power bars are not designed to handle the high current flow required by a space heater and can overheat causing a fire.

@BrentToderian Sorry, but no, not necessarily: for many #Ottawa areas & schools it can be quite dangerous to walk or bike, particularly w/winter conditions (which can also do away w/the "healthier" part, depending on conditions & individuals). For ++ppl to do those, first safety must improve.

As our kids go #BackToSchool, never forget that we ARE the traffic that we’re using as an excuse. If they walked, biked or rode transit to school, it would erase a massive number of car trips each day, and our kids would be safer, healthier and better at school. Spread the word.
