@jessesingal I think their arguments is he intentionally alerts opposing far-right groups to the movements, identities & activities of the far-left in the hope of sparking violence So they wouldn't see him as a journalist who sits back and documents, they see him as a real-time instigator.

@Docstockk I firmly believe the SNP are the most competent party in Scotland, but they are historically clumsy and quick to wade out too far, too fast, on legal matters issues which are clearly going to be contentious such as changes to corroboration, or their 'named-person' scheme.

@_ginlane @MarkAPierceNE @MsMainstay @JosephMcGann You need someone informed enough to steer decisions around politics of African conflict, global climate policy, international finance running close to billions. Decisions oxfam make affected lives of millions of worlds poorest people. CEO is massive job.

@_ginlane @MarkAPierceNE @MsMainstay @JosephMcGann Well, they have to run Oxfam. A giant global brand with a footprint millions of pounds across 90ish countries(some extremely dangerous) and understand the political and social context of their work, both on the ground helping ppl and at the level of national government.

@kh_99 @Docstockk I think the Greens can afford to be resolute, but don't think the SNP will relish an indyref where sex-based rights (or lack of) get dragged into the spotlight at every opportunity. So they might start to backpedal. Feel Stonewall seriously overplayed their hand this weekend.

@Docstockk Scottish gov is in the firm grip of the SNP and Greens. No chance of a U-turn on this from them

@WillCloutman @ZurichCrypto @bitcoinarchive Maybe I'm missing something, but seems to me if the supply is limited those with the ability to generate profit will accumulate it all and hoard it all over time? Because the ability to generate wealth is much easier for people with wealth, so they'll just vacuum it all up? No?

@WillCloutman @ZurichCrypto @bitcoinarchive So what I'm trying to understand is what happens when 8-10 billion people all try and accumulate from the same finite pot? Assumedly the pot keeps getting smaller? And surely people will hang onto whatever BitCoin they can generate because they see the supply is limited?

@WillCloutman @ZurichCrypto @bitcoinarchive And I think that's how you get runaway inflation - like 0.0000001 BitCoin buys you a case of beer, but 6 months later it only buys you a bottle of beer because the value has had to be redefined. And the person who had 1 bit coin in the bank has had 90% of it's worth wiped out etc

@WillCloutman @ZurichCrypto @bitcoinarchive So for example, the more people want to 'save' their coins(or parts of coins) each month then the less there is in circulation each month for others to buy stuff with or employers to pay people. And so the only way around that is to continually redefine the worth of a coin.

@ZurichCrypto @WillCloutman @bitcoinarchive A situation where it's one store of value I could definitely see. I'm still trying to get my head around coins 'upgrading'- because doesn't this mean it's centrally controlled by a few people and just a bit like government's printing money/doing quantitative easing?

@WillCloutman @ZurichCrypto @bitcoinarchive For info; I like the idea of cryptocurrencies, but I guess there may have to be more than one or something? The answer given on that interview missed the wider point about the potential of crypto, but I'm not sure he's wrong to say we can't run the world solely on BitCoin.

@WillCloutman @ZurichCrypto @bitcoinarchive So if there is 21mil bitcoins max, and all the world's value is encompassed in that figure, as soon as someone does something of value they need to take a share of the total 21mil. Can the 21mil just keep getting divided forever? Feels like something would be amiss?
