@DennisBowden18 Nope. Prophets have authority to write and interpret scripture. Not a problem.
English

@Outdoor_Steven It's fine if believers notice and proclaim "this situation has similarities to X in the OT"
It's very different when they claim "this event is the actual fulfillment of prophecy X!" when X was clearly not about the new event, or wasn't a prophecy to begin with (brass serpent)

At a time when our world is afflicted by so many conflicts, particularly in the Middle East, Christians must, more than ever, strive for full unity so that we may bear witness together to the Prince of Peace. In doing so, we can be confident in the powerful intercession and example of the countless martyrs who have suffered for the name of Christ. #ChristianUnity

@Apologetics941 Access to information is the greatest contributor to the faith.
English

@DennisBowden18 Nor was the brass serpent about Jesus until a prophet wrote about it as thought it represented Jesus.
Nor was manna until Jesus called himself the living bread that came down from heaven.
Nor was the slaughter of israelitish children until Herod strive to murder Jesus.
English

@Outdoor_Steven There's nothing in Isaiah 7 that refers to a virgin birth, a Messiah, and no indication any of it foreshadowed an event 700 years distant. Isaiah gave the prophecy a specific time frame, which we find fulfilled in chapter 8.
It's not about Jesus.

Activist: "Your cows are putting carbon into the atmosphere."
Farmer: "Where did they get it?"
Activist: "What?"
Farmer: "The carbon. Where did the cow get it before it put it anywhere."
Activist: "From... eating?"
Farmer: "From eating grass. And where did the grass get it."
Activist: "The soil?"
Farmer: "The air. The grass pulled it out of the air last spring. The cow ate the grass. The cow breathed some of it back out. It went back into the air it came from."
Activist: "But it's still going into the atmosphere."
Farmer: "It's going back. There's a difference between a thing going somewhere and a thing going back. You've described a circle and you're frightened of it."
Activist: "Then just don't have the cow."
Farmer: "The grass still dies in autumn. It rots where it falls. The carbon goes back into the air either way, just without anyone getting fed in the middle."
Activist: "It's not that simple."
Farmer: "It's grass, cow, breath, grass. Or it's grass, rot, air, grass. Same circle, fewer dinners. If that's complicated for you I'd stay away from the water cycle. That one's got clouds in it."

@B_Rjones89 @kariwarburton @michcooley Guess it’s time to reread it I think that update was 2006 bro
English

@kariwarburton @michcooley Wait I thought they were direct decedents. When did they change beginning of the book 📕 ?

@sola_chad His arm is outstretched still. He still calls. We must help too

Dreadful theology. Jesus isn’t in heaven wringing His hands wondering if you’ll ever come around.
God chose His children before the foundation of the world. Everything that happens on your path to Him was ordained for your good and His glory.
The chosen will come when called.

@lunceford_rod @BenBird53920553 @JS_StrngstSldr Another exmo talking point solved by maybe idk reading the scriptures
English

@BenBird53920553 @JS_StrngstSldr The Lord says David and Solomon had many wives/concubines, and “in nothing did they sin save in those things which they received not of me” (D&C 132:38).
That implies some were “of” God (authorized) and some were not.

@chrishardman @RapidResponse47 @POTUS Free market. Folks get to trade at the global price which America doesn’t want to pay.
English

@RapidResponse47 @POTUS How about instead of China buying our oil, we use it here so I don't have to pay $5/gallon in gas?
English

.@POTUS: "One thing I think that we're going to make a deal on, they've agreed they want to buy oil from the United States. They're going to go to Texas. We're going to start sending Chinese ships to Texas, and to Louisiana, and to Alaska... that's a big thing."
