Yet the attempt was to portray Twisha as a drug addict, something that medical reports themselves did not support. And realistically, if you are marrying a 32-year-old woman, expecting that she would never have dated anyone in her life reflects deep prejudice and double standards. By the same logic, her son may also have had relationships in the past. Why is a woman’s past treated as a moral issue while a man’s past is normalised or ignored?

@MohanAspy @dr_chayanika In my native for e.g, there is no practice of dowry (cash, vehicle), but people gift their daughters loads of gold as streedhan..from my granny to mom to me, its still the same. Also arranged marriages ARE transactional initially and this needs to change from both sides
