Overclock | Solana Validator

Mithril's validator arc is in motion. Our lean verifying node is still live and being polished, and we've begun charting the path to another validator client for Alpenglow. Thank you @cavemanloverboy for forging a key piece that has Mithril building blocks on Alpenglow testnet

@BloodReaver For now it seems like they will still be quite low. Realistically though, as a validator it'll need to be able to handle ddos/heavy spam so it'll need something a bit heavier duty for protection. It'll be interesting to see what is actually doable though.

@OverclockSol While still keeping the chill compute requirements?

Right now it runs with 6gb RAM steady state with Turbine/block production/etc turned on and executing full blocks within 400ms. You need a high clock speed cpu though + ~1TB NVME We still need to add full fork choice which probably adds a little bit of overhead but not as much in Alpenglow's version

12/ Beyond that, our roadmap includes pre-confirmed block support, especially for simulation, plus continued performance and RPC polish. Because Mithril can run on lighter hardware than a full RPC node, we believe it could help power easy agent-driven setups that act on-chain.

@dev_jodee @OverclockSol Sorry this might be a dumb question … but is this actually client diversity as it isn’t block building? Isnt it more just block verification? Or am I missing something

Full node on home internet. Go client diversity matters — congrats to the @OverclockSol team on shipping Mithril alpha.
