@AndrewGspeedrun I have been arguing this for so long! If 16-star wasn't such a good intro to speedrunning speedrun, it'd be very hard to justify it since it really is just an arbitrary any%. I guess you can see it as a competitive version of SM64, though. Great for races.

I still look at 16 and 1 star as almost memes. Obviously they arent, but the categories should be obsolete. Like most other game communities would have it be Any%, 100% (120) and maybe 70 Star.

Every time I see a Switch with demos on them, I always boot up Super Mario Odyssey and do an IP Clip for old time's sake. I slowly have been getting worse and worse, struggling to do the clip, but I always make it through that inverted pyramid door. One of these days...
