Jake DeBrusk is becoming underrated, it seems. He’s not a superstar by any account, but for fans to say they wouldn’t even take him at half retention? Mind-boggling. He’s a good buy-low candidate, gets to high-danger areas quite efficiently, as well. 20+ goal guy, why not?

The oilers drama thickens… either Jeff Jackson or Stan bowman are gone. Media reporting there’s a rift. One of them is getting pinned with the failure. The other will receive sideways glances. This is not ideal in the show-me year for Connor. Not ideal at all.

Hearing a formal interview with Berube is expected after some initial conversation between he and Bowman. Permission to speak with Bruce Cassidy had still not been granted as of Sunday night.

Criminal that the #Oilers let Holloway and Broberg walk. Matching Holloway was the easiest thing to do at the time. Total mismanagement of assets. At the time, I said match both, & move out a contract or two if you have too.

When you look at the Oilers upfront, barring any deals, they have 2 spots to fill. Preferably with guys who play with an edge, can help on the pk, in the dot & are good skaters: Savoie - McDavid - Hyman Podkolzin - Draisaitl - Howard RNH - ? - Frederic  Dach - Samanski - ?

@coopsie39 I'm not a huge Seravalli fan by any means, but if he's saying it, and Stauffer is saying"neither confirming nor denying, but he got belted in game 1". I have a hard time accepting that at face value from Stan.

@kami4374 @RajBauer Not unless they were splitting up Ekholm/Bouch. Yeah injuries are always the X factor in terms of trades and signing players. As well as play in playoffs. Some guys just have a different gear that’s why I think the oilers need to make it a priority to resign Murph n Dickinson.

That is true, but Holloway is injury prone, and with the Oilers spent quite a bit of time injured, and with St. Louis has also spent quite a bit of time injured. Notably during the entire first round of last year‘s playoffs. Bowman was able to mostly successfully replace Holloway with Podkolzin. The Broberg one hurts though, though Broberg wanted out of Edmonton and it is hard to predict how that may have affected his performance. Would the Oilers have been able to play him top minutes as St. Louis has?

Every single good player we lost can be tied directly to Ken Holland choosing to bridge and then max pay Nurse at 9.25x8 and full NMC. Worst GM and D man People want to blame bowman but look at those two as the reason for no Holloway, Broberg, Kulak, Brown, etc #LetsGoOilers

Hearing that Bowman’s and Jackson’s job are very much in jeopardy after the Knob fiasco, as the power struggle within the org continues. Expect Mike Gillis to be brought in along with Tim Barnes as GM and Bruce Cassidy as HC to fix this mess.

@OwenCMason @EricMacramalla @jallanmac5 True. But most other professions if you get fired, you don't continue to get paid your full salary of millions of dollars. Is it a dick move by Vegas? Yes. But they might just be willing to pay him to not have him go to a division rival

Bruce Cassidy has 1 year left on his deal at $4.5M. If Vegas lets the Oilers speak to him and Edmonton hires him, Vegas would typically only owe the difference in salary under standard NHL mitigation/offset rules and not the full remaining $4.5M. Ya I know - thats hot.
