Can't see the Oilers moving Nurse or Walman in the off-season but fingers crossed. I'd suspect Ingram ends up in Ottawa, though they're a good landing spot for Skinner as well. I get Cossa is the name out there but Buffalo is as likely a spot for Edmonton to go goalie hunting.

@Oil_Drop @coopsie39 They're small and play small. That's 3 strikes. If they both figure in the line up it's not a good situation. Howard's greatly overrated, only by Oilers fans. Which is what Oilers fans tend to do.

1) Neither Howard nor, in particular, Savoie are "Yamamoto's", both much stalkier and more skilled. 2) Hutson is 3 tiers below Howard - Hutson is a tweener whereas Howard is a legit top 6 propsect 3) 100% room for both Howard and Savoie - Howard is replacing Roslovic

@AlbertaOilers There are some out there saying he could be moved before July 1st, if Nurse isn't moved, which is when his no trade kicks in. I can't see it.

@Oil_Drop I question if a deal goalie would work between Buffalo and Edmonton; because Buffalo has 4 goalies contracted next year, I don’t know if they’d be interested in taking a goalie like Jarry back in return. Things are already crowded in the crease, even in the AHL.

@IlesBuck Oilers do not have a young guy anywhere near ready for the NHL.

@Lindsman77 Why wouldn't they? They have four goalies and he's already asked to be moved. I'd also be fine with Lyon on his last year but as others have mentioned, Buffalo probably looks to try and move off UPL.

@GinoHard_ Great move and goal from Mitch but I can't get over how bad Dostal has been in the playoffs. Wasn't good against Edmonton and was arguably worse against Vegas

@KevinMcCurdy @mathewjdp He has but the term and money probably keeps him from getting it from the Oilers. I'm a big fan of the guy but his inability to stay healthy is a real thing. If that is reflected in Kapanen's salary, bring him back.

1. Goalie: Gustavsson, Levi, Cossa 2. Trade Nurse 3. Top 6F: J. Robertson, McCann, Perfetti, McMicheal, Maccelli 4. Re-sign Murphy, Lazar, Dickinson, Dach, Stastney These are what I would do. Some is easier to do than others. These are the players I would look at.

@qauckenbush17 I genuinely don't think it's as much of thing as many are making it out to be. While I do agree with Leon & Connor's assessment, the group needs to play better to improve. The roster has holes but it's not that far off.

@Oil_Drop The way they play needs to be 40 to 50 percent better , and roster construction needs work as well.

Kinda hard not to be down in the dumps right now about the state of the oilers , I’ll keep my faith , but it’s certainly hard to see a path right now where this team somehow becomes 40-50 percent better over a summer, especially with how this one’s already started.

John Tortorella declined to speak with the media after advancing to the Western Conference finals. The Golden Knights also didn’t open the dressing room after the game. They brought 1 player into a side room to speak, along with the two who spoke at the podium. I’ve been covering the NHL for nine years and never seen either of those happen once.

@Maclintock1 That's what they'll be doing. If he wants, keep any of what's left over or change tye entire crew.

@ronp11 By difference maker, I think he can score 15 in the right spot, which is having an impact. He'll be middle sixing it all season. Those two do not need a $7-$8M winger & they can't afford one. Can the Oilers add one at the deadline? Possibly & that's when such an add should happen

@Oil_Drop On Hyman, yes, thank god we have him. A big piece of the puzzle On Howard, thinking he is gonna be a difference maker in the top 6 next year is delusional. He’s small and needs time, do we wanna develop or do we want to win. bring in another 7-8m scoring winger to help 97/29

When you look at the Oilers upfront, barring any deals, they have 2 spots to fill. Preferably with guys who play with an edge, can help on the pk, in the dot & are good skaters: Savoie - McDavid - Hyman Podkolzin - Draisaitl - Howard RNH - ? - Frederic  Dach - Samanski - ?

@ronp11 Howard is a shooter and garbage goals is what the majority of teams score in the playoffs. Just saying

@Oil_Drop I get that the numbers say they score enough, but when you have 97/29 I don’t think they do. Find another dynamic shooter for them to leverage that talent. Hyman is a garbage goal specialist. Need a shooter. Savy, Howard, Hutson, Pods, aren’t gonna cut it if the goal is the cup.

@revingev Yeah and that's the point. You just wait until the shoe is on the other foot. There was no rush. Especially considering they had yet to call up Ingram. Nothing that can be done about it now.

@Oil_Drop That was offered actually and Pens had no interest. Remember they knew oilers needs. Had Edmonton waited another month, I would agree but we’re not patient enough.

As bad as the Jarry trade has turned out, had the Oilers simply made it Tristan for Skinner with the Pens retaining money, it's not as big of a deal. Something tells me Pitt still jumps at that deal. Unfortunately, Bowman was desperate & took whatever Dubas threw his way.

@JenMN72 I'm saying I don't know who they sign. Those two are both possibilities but neither should be viewed as guarantees. Dickinson not being great in the dot & left-handed isn't ideal.
