During #WHA79, I met with the Hon. @charlestufton , Minister of Health & Wellness of Jamaica 🇯🇲, to discuss strengthening community-based care and addressing social determinants of health. PAHO supports Jamaica’s initiative to train caregivers and reinforce primary health care.

At #WHA79, we signed a new PAHO–@CarterCenter cooperation agreement with Dr. Kashef Ijaz to advance disease elimination in the Americas 🌎 Together, we will support efforts to eliminate river blindness and strengthen cooperation on malaria & lymphatic filariasis in Hispaniola.

Important exchange with Haiti’s Minister of Health 🇭🇹 , Dr. Bertrand Sinal, during #WHA79 on the country’s response to the diphtheria outbreak and broader health challenges. PAHO remains committed to supporting Haiti through vaccination, surveillance & emergency preparedness.
