Irish comedian Tadhg Hickey goes on a rant blaming the “only Jewish State” for the stabbing in London today. He says the “whole population” of Israel is genocidal as seeming justification for the attacks. He claims he’s not a psychopath. From what he said I’m not so sure.

@griptmedia I think that is the correct decision. Article 26 referrals are usually decided through hypothetical arguments, and once a law is found to be constitutional under Article 26, it can never be challenged again by any citizen ever, regardless of any injustice that may arise later.

Irish people spend less than 10% of their household expenditure on groceries. Among Europeans, only those in Ireland and Luxembourg spend so little of their income on food & non-alcoholic drinks, leaving 90% of funds available to cover everything else 🇮🇪 ec.europa.eu/eurostat/stati…

"We do have to collect taxes to fund public services": Tánaiste Simon Harris has defended the fact that over half of motor fuel prices are pure Government tax, arguing that "we have to take in a certain amount of taxation to run the country":

Wishful thinking. Even after the atom bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan, the Imperial Japanese Army wanted to continue the war to get something other than unconditional surrender. They'd discounted the mostly civilians losses at Hiroshima and Nagasaki after the even greater losses in the Tokyo fire raids. They were prepared to arm the civilians with long knives on wooden stick to fight the Americans and reckoned the IJA and civilians might be able to kill enough Americans to make the United States offer terms, and the Americans reckoned they'd lose a million dead in the invasion and occupation of Japan's Home Island. So why did the IJA collapse and surrender? Because the Soviet Union entered the war, invaded and liberated Inner Mongolia, Manchuria, north Korea and other parts to the east. To avoid an invasion of the Home Islands by the Soviets coming from the north when all of Japan's defences were directed at the American invasion coming from the south west the Japanese agreed terms with the United States and surrendered conditionally, not unconditionally as Washington's narrative claims. That term, Japan kept its emperor. Threaten the existence of a clerical government with a substantial constituency of religious supporter and it will fight to the death. Unless the US military occupy all of Iran, I doubt Iran will surrender.

@AlaliQasem It seems like the inventories will hold up until a deal is made and SoH is open again. The iranians will never hold out for long enough to make this a real crisis.

🚨 BREAKING Tens of thousands of people are flooding the roads around Ireland in a ‘go slow’ protest over energy prices. Ireland’s government disgracefully add huge tax % to every fuel sale. Enough!

@LOCthedreamer2 The government needs changing that’s obvious, but world politics they have no control over so stop pretending you fave . Ireland needs to take control of its self, don’t leave it up to others. By the way open your eyes as this shit could be seen a mile away.

How many of the protesters against fuel prices today would you say voted for Fianna Fáil/Fine Gael in the 2024 general election ? The price of fuel is the natural conclusion of FF/FG's idiotic carbon tax policy, the war was just an accelerant

The US is on the verge of stopping the war with Iran without any achievements. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Trump is willing to end the U.S. military campaign against Iran even if the Strait of Hormuz remains closed. This is because the political bleeding and the price of oil are too much for Trump to continue to withstand. What this means: 1) Trump and his aides concluded that forcing the strait open would take longer than his 4–6 week timeline, so the plan is to wind down hostilities after degrading Iran's navy and missile capabilities. 2) The plan is then to push diplomatically for free passage and if that fails, lean on European and Gulf allies to lead the reopening effort. 3) Iran would then likely demand that Israel stop bombing before they agree to open. That shouldn't be a massive problem, since Israel is running out of targets there anyway. 4) Iran received a lot of money from oil and a lot of new weapons and technology. They will use that to rebuild their regional power. 5) It appears very likely that Iran is going to pursue a nuclear weapons seriously for the first time, instead of pursuing the goal of being a threshold state. 6) The United States will lose a lot of its influence in the Gulf and the Middle East due to this disaster. That will pave the path to Chinese domination in the region. The US appears ready to conceded a historic defeat in the Gulf. American power will never be the same.

BREAKING: This video released by CENTCOM shows the moment a U.S. Air Force MQ-9A Reaper armed drone used an AGM-114R2 Hellfire missile to strike a Toyota Tundra pickup truck carrying a Shahed-136 one-way attack drone of the IRGC Aerospace Force on the runway of one of its drone bases. The Shahed-136 was seconds away from launch when it was targeted and destroyed, preventing an imminent attack. #OperationEpicFury #OperationLionsRoar
