@turbomander the game provides cheats for accessibility, by the way. it doesn't protect you from the instant death spikes. there's a cheat for ammo which was really useful because the game kept giving me ammo for puzzle elements in the middle of a puzzleless boss battle (which is all of them)

@turbomander it turned out the upgrade for that item was in the first area on the list and I missed it because I gave up on the path to the upgrade due to a jump being way too precise in addition to the instant death spikes everywhere

@slowboat2hades_ pretty much everyone's waiting on the 2.0 update which besides switching to a better engine introduces something very important that roblox devs really needed, which is... dragging parts around

@slowboat2hades_ the thing about polytoria is that it's just not really suitable for any kind of gamedev right now. it's pretty much in the same state as roblox in around 2007-2009

Below is a CoreGUI concept from around 2009 to early 2010. This was originally intended to be shipped instead of the GUI that was released in late 2010 (second image). Most of it was not used, but the building tool icons were reused. It can be seen in a video featuring an early release of Welcome To Roblox Building.

@Dynabroth there are very obvious sims 3 and spore vibes here from the UI. It looks pretty big though so I suppose it's for the better it ended up not getting used
