Institutions like JDMC play a vital role in nurturing conscious citizens. Honored to felicitate NSS volunteers at Astitva ’26! Dedicating 240+ hours to service proves that real change comes from consistent, quiet effort, and the conscious choice to live gently. 🌱 @CollegeJanki

RT @gauri_maulekhi: The arc of justice must be long enough to cover the most vulnerable among us. Honored to address the judicial officers…

In an inspiring moment from Malviya Nagar, a delivery rider from Magicpin, Shivanket, showed what real courage looks like. He stepped forward and stopped people from throwing water balloons at helpless stray dogs. One voice. One stand. One act of humanity. Small actions like these restore faith and remind us that compassion still lives among us. Respect. @mymagicpin #Holi2026 #HoliCelebration

India’s conscience keepers must reflect: directives that are impractical and blind to animal welfare, public health, ecology and public finances do not strengthen the nation. They erode the hard-won faith that our institutions have built over decades. #JusticeForAnimals #ConstitutionalCrisis

"The tragedy of India’s ‘dog problem’ isn’t a lack of law. It’s a failure to apply it." Former SEBI Chairman Shri D.R. Mehta, one of the most inspirational IAS officers, articulates a vital point: sustainable solutions lie in scientific implementation and constitutional boundaries, not in fear-mongering or judicial overreach. We must choose reason over reaction.

Relocating and confining street dogs isn’t just cruel; it’s scientifically flawed. Research shows removing dogs from familiar territories triggers aggression and increases bite incidents. With no government shelters and an estimated annual cost of ₹33,872 crore for feed alone, shelters are an impossible "solution". Tomorrow, we urge the Supreme Court to uphold the only scientific path: Sterilization (ABC) and Vaccination. Thankyou @RajatSharmaLive for speaking up for the voiceless. #SupremeCourtofIndia #StreetDogsOfIndia #justicefordogs

Extending our deepest and warmest birthday felicitations to @Luthra_Sidharth Sir. Your distinguished legal journey is matched only by your profound compassion. Your lifelong commitment to animal welfare has fortified its very foundations. We remain deeply indebted to your wisdom, your unwavering guidance, and your role as a guardian for those who have no voice. Wishing you peace, vitality, and a year as remarkable as the legacy you are building.

Humbled to be featured by the @KalamCenter. This journey has never been about one person, it’s about the thousands of volunteers and the millions of animals who need us. The work continues. 🙏

When Gauri Maulekhi’s beloved dog died due to a lack of veterinary care, it opened her eyes to a deeper crisis—one where countless animals suffer in silence. She could have turned away, but instead, she turned her grief into action. Her work has since impacted over 50 lakh animals, especially the overworked horses, donkeys, and mules along pilgrimage routes like Chardham and Vaishno Devi. She didn’t just raise her voice—she created change. Gauri trained over 50,000 volunteers, sensitised 5,000 officials, and helped establish Uttarakhand’s only equine sanctuary. One moment that haunts her still is when she saw two collapsed horses being tormented with fire to force them to stand. That pain became her purpose. Through petitions, policy reforms, and persistent advocacy, she’s ensured that only healthy, registered animals are used on these treks, and that complaint systems are now in place. Her AHIMSA Fellowship builds future changemakers because, as she says, “There are far too few animals I can personally assist—that’s why we built a structure to empower others.” For Gauri, animal welfare isn’t just about rescue—it’s about reimagining a more compassionate, accountable world. #AnimalWelfare #GauriMaulekhi #AhimsaFellowship #CompassionInAction #EquineRescue #PilgrimageRoutes #IndiaForAnimals #SystemicChange #EmpathyInAction

#WATCH | Delhi | On Supreme Court's Suo Moto case on stray dogs, Advocate Divyam Khera says, "The Supreme Court is taking note of the fact that, scientifically, the ABC rules were created by the Parliament, by the government. The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act is a central government law. These rules fall under the ABC rules... We want the court to take note that the feeders are essentially doing the work of the municipalities. They feed the animals from their own pockets. They don't receive any funding... No feeder wants the number of dogs on the road to increase. If a dog gets injured on the road, these feeders pay for their treatment from their own pockets. India is the fourth largest economy in the world, but it's very shameful that there isn't a single 24/7 functional veterinary clinic in Delhi... In smaller cities, there are no veterinary hospitals at all..."
