Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has presented Engr. Mustapha Gubio as the APC consensus governorship candidate to Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Zulum said Gubio’s emergence followed wide consultations among party stakeholders and reflects unity within the party. He also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership and support. Borno Adopts Gubio as APC Consensus Governorship Candidate Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, on Thursday, presented Engr. Mustafa Gubio, the APC Governorship consensus candidate to Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Governor Zulum, who described the emergence of the candidate as the outcome of extensive consultations across party stakeholders. According to Zulum, the decision reflects a unified position within the party in the state. He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as “strategic leadership, support and guidance” to both the government and the APC. “I wish to express my profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the leadership he is providing in the country and for the enormous support to Borno State as well as the APC, which has been unprecedented,” the governor said. “ I would also like to commend the President, who has been instrumental in the emergence of Gubio as the consensus candidate. PRESS RELEASE SOKOTO DEPUTY GOVERNOR INSPECTS PROJECTS WORTH BILLIONS OF NAIRA BEING EXECUTED BY AHMED ALIYU’S ADMINISTRATION IN GADA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Idris Gobir, has inspected projects worth billions of naira being executed by the state government in Gada Local Government Area. The projects include the 21.8-kilometre Kaffe–Kaddi Sabon Gari Road, the 9.5-kilometre Gada–Ila–Tabani Road, and the Gada Agro Logistics Centre. Others are the General Hospital and the Gada Central Jumu'at Mosque. Briefing the Deputy Governor, the Special Adviser on Rural Roads, Malami Mohammed Galadanci, said the Kaffe–Kaddi Sabon Gari Road was awarded to M/S Gerawa Global Engineering Nigeria Limited at a cost of over ₦5.1 billion. He said the road links eight towns, including Kaffe, Gidan Bawa, Gidan Gyado, Gidan Hashimu, Karangiya, Tsitse, Kaddi Arawa, and Kaddi Sabon Gari. The Special adviser added that the project has so far reached 52% completion. Commenting, the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Idris Gobir, expressed satisfaction with the quality and progress of the work. He said the project will go a long way in boosting economic activities across the area, as it is endowed with fadama land. The Deputy Governor assured that all observations noted in the construction work would be addressed accordingly. In their separate responses, the village heads of Kaddi Arawa, Kaddi Sabon Gari, and Gidan Hashimu described the project as a dream come true. They said the lack of roads had been a major challenge faced by the communities for over 50 years. According to them, farmers spend hours transporting their produce to Gada town due to the sandy and muddy nature of the area. The village heads, therefore, expressed their gratitude to Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto for awarding the contract. At the Gada–Ila–Tabani Road, the Special Adviser, Malami Galadanci, said the project was awarded to Anchor Nuel Resources Limited at a cost of ₦2.8 billion. He said the project has reached 62% completion and will be tarred. Responding, the Deputy Governor commended the construction firm for adhering to the contractual agreement in executing the project. The Deputy Governor also visited the Gada Agro Logistics Centre under construction and was taken round by the Special Adviser, Malami Mohammed Galadanci. The Special Adviser said the project was initiated to streamline the agricultural supply chain and reduce post-harvest losses. He added that it will enhance market efficiency, reduce waste, and support the commercialization of farming activities in the area. The facility will include sections for onions, garlic, grains, livestock, and an abattoir. The Deputy Governor also visited the Gada General Hospital, which has been completely renovated along with staff quarters. Briefing the Deputy Governor, the Chairman of the area, Alhaji Zayyanu Gada, said the renovation is nearing completion. He added that several inspection visits were carried personally by him during the exercise and expressed satisfaction with the quality of work executed. Alhaji Zayyanu Gada thanked the state government for executing various development projects within the area. Renewed Hope Ambassadors’ Media Tour Of the NW : Day II – First Stop: Bola Ahmed Tinubu Specialist Hospital, Kaduna ~ Babajide Fadoju Our tour continued on Day II with a visit to the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Specialist Hospital, a 320‑bed tertiary health facility located in Millennium City, Kaduna. This hospital, originally conceived years ago was inherited by Governor Uba Sani from his predecessor, former Governor Namadi Sambo and Fmr Vice President, with foundational work dating back to 2009. When Governor Uba Sani assumed office, the hospital’s civil works were about 60 percent complete, while essential medical equipment stood at barely 20 percent. The new administration injected fresh momentum into the project. Thanks to increased monthly FAAC allocations made possible by President Bola Tinubu’s bold decision on fuel subsidy removal – which boosted revenues for Kaduna and all 36 states – the state government was able to fund completion work on this hospital alongside over 150 other roads and infrastructure projects across the state. Today, the hospital is fully up and running. To date, it has served approximately 3,000 out‑patients and counting. The primary objective of this facility is to reduce foreign medical tourism, both within Kaduna State and across Nigeria, by offering world‑class specialist care at home. The hospital boasts dedicated wings for women and children, a comprehensive oncology unit for cancer care, a fully equipped Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and solar panels complemented by generator backup to ensure 24/7 power supply. Phase II of the hospital’s development will focus on establishing a cancer treatment and nuclear medicine centre – an initiative already approved by the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority . This phase is set to be supported by the Federal Government, with President Tinubu having assured the state of federal collaboration and intervention to complete this critical component . To ensure accessibility for all residents, the hospital operates within the NHIS framework and the Kaduna State Health Contributory Scheme, making quality healthcare affordable for ordinary citizens.
