I had to take my mother to the hospital for a quick procedure and then drive her home cause she was all zonked out on meds. As we’re leaving she says “is that one of those little robots?” The nurse and I look at each other. “He’s so cute” Then I see what she’s pointing at.

This mom gets the estimate for her teenage son's braces and her reaction is pure, relatable shock. She sits there staring at the paper: over $6,000 for full top-and-bottom braces. "What? Like who can afford over $6,000 for braces?" she says, voice cracking with disbelief. Her son needs them for an overbite and just one or two crooked teeth—"his teeth aren't even that crooked"—but it's still full treatment. She thought maybe it was $1,900 or something (perhaps a down payment), but nope, the numbers are real. He's got two insurances (one through mom, one through dad), yet the estimate only factors in dad's. She hopes hers kicks in more, especially since her daughter only needed top braces before. But even so, she's floored: "Oh my god, this can't be real. This can't be real. Parents, is this real?" This is the everyday reality hitting so many families right now. A basic need like fixing your kid's teeth turns into a massive financial gut punch—thousands out of pocket, even with insurance, while you're already dealing with life’s other curveballs. Kids shouldn't have to go without straight teeth and confidence because orthodontics costs more than a used car. Parents shouldn't have to choose between braces and bills. Who's been hit with a braces quote that made you do a double-take? Or is this just what we Americans have to deal with in 2026?

@PBStashReads @xndrgngb @Variety And I’m already hearing that the corporation might have connections to New Sunnydale, so her working there might have been part of a larger plot.

EXCLUSIVE: The shooting draft for the scrapped “Buffy” reboot at Hulu reveals the plot: Over the course of the script, Nova (Ryan Kiera Armstrong), described as a “brainy introvert,” discovers that she’s the Slayer — and people in Sunnydale do know the mythology of what Slayers are because of what happened to the town back in Buffy’s day. Set during a “Vampire Weekend,” a Renaissance Faire-like celebration of the town’s dubious history, Nova takes down two actual vampires after coming into her powers. By the episode’s end, the formerly friendless Nova has a new Scooby Gang flanking her. The action then cuts to New York City for a brief scene with Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy, who is working in a corporate office building under the name "Anne." The script drops hints about what’s to come: Her dad, a photojournalist, is overly protective, and has moved them around a lot after Nova was kidnapped as a young child. And all the vampires that Buffy buried in the show’s 2003 series finale, when the Hellmouth collapsed in on itself, taking Sunnydale down with it, have been awakened. Nova would have her work cut out for her. variety.com/2026/tv/news/b…

There is a witches convention coming to town and there’s an internal debate amongst a group at my Church. Half of us want to go the convention to pray outside it with Rosary prayers & hymns. The other half are fearful & say it could put us in spiritual danger. What do you say?

Growing up in the ‘90s, you could get a cultural education from watching classic films and brilliant kids’ TV. Today those have been replaced by illiterate livestreamers & conspiracy-addled tiktoks. They haven’t seen Casablanca; they haven’t heard of King Arthur. It’s bleak.

Genuine question, what do kids and tweens watch these days? What’s their High School Musical, Hannah Montana, Cheetah Girls, Wizards of Waverley Place, Camp Rock, Sonny with a Chance, That’s so Raven, Lizzie McGuire,Suite Life, etc? We had so much, and they seemingly have nothing?

@Valistryingg @CarineK Not really. TV has changed a lot. I like Youtube myself as an adult now and find it interesting to watch hobbyist content creators like Booktube. Older TV shows still exist for them, neither is better than the other

🚨 NIH just quietly gave $718,805 to induce heart failure in puppies... and then CUT OUT THEIR HEARTS while still alive. I am in shock. This is absolutely brutal. On February 23, shortly after @SecKennedy promised to end animal testing, @NIHDirector_Jay directed your taxpayer dollars to inhumanely k*ll hundreds of puppies at University of Utah. The grant was found and exposed by @WhiteCoatWaste, the same organization that partnered with Kennedy to expose the original Fauci experiments on beagles. Secretary Kennedy: MAHA was promised an END to Fauci-era cruelty. Please keep your word and END these programs once and for all! Tag @SecKennedy, tag @NIHDirector_Jay. Use AI. Use p*dophiles. LEAVE THE PUPPIES ALONE.

@MyQuietInterval @FoxNews I wouldn't trust my old gas powered car in this situation either though. I had it lock me inside my car when I had a dead battery, thankfully friend was standing there and I had window cracked to let air in and she charged me enough for the doors and windows to resume working.

Dude at work asked me if I had kids. I said no. He said not yet. I said not ever. He said. No not yet. I said no not ever. This went on back-and-forth about five times. Is there a way I can get him in trouble for this? Doesn’t seem appropriate.

@patmaherjfm @MbarkCherguia There aren't always places to move, some of these flights are too booked. Besides, I'm sure they may have already bought extra seats to accommodate the space for the dog, so those seats are paid for.

@PMbuli76256 @MbarkCherguia The chances of a person with canine/feline allergies to be exposed to their dander on an airplane, is nearly 100%, given the number of such animals in the other passengers' homes. The person with allergies must either take meds, or travel private.
