That’s what happens when jihadist regimes are allowed to blackmail the planet with oil and shipping lanes. America doesn’t need to shed any tears for Saudi executives or anyone else still dependent on that volatile region.

Mostly bluster for a domestic audience.
These are Shia Islamists, they will never concede the removal of enriched uranium. As far as they are concerned they want to destroy the US and especially Israel. They see a nuclear arsenal as the only way to do this.
They are playing the long game, hoping the US will move on and they can continue and rebuild their nuclear enrichment program.
US military need to finish the job with a regime change, nothing less will suffice.
