Privilege to be with Millisle & Ballycopeland on the last day of my Presbytery of Ards tour, preaching & taking part in an Act of Remembrance this Remembrance Sunday, remembering the sacrifice of many & giving thanks for the peace 80 years on from the end of World War Two.

Pleasure hosting the Stated Clerk of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (USA). Rev Dr D. Dean Weaver has been discussing areas of co-operation, especially in mission, meeting council secretaries and other senior leaders of our Church. EPC (USA) is our newest partner.

I was shocked to hear that animal carcasses had been dumped at St Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Caledon. Along with my colleague in the village, Rev Joanne Smith, we condemn this obscene act. As part of the local community, we pray for all who have been affected.

It was an insightful visit, where we were made so welcome! PCI has been sending chaplains to all 3 services for generations & each plays an invaluable role in peacetime & in times of war. As they support service personnel of faith & no faith they are deserving of our prayers.

At a meeting of Irish Church Leaders today, we agreed to encourage our churches to take time to study the new proposals on legacy. As a denomination, we will do this through our Council for Public Affairs.

Last week the first of 14 religious worship programmes called Prayer and Reflection began on @BBCOne and iPlayer. It covers six of the major faiths across the UK. Recorded in the summer, this Sunday comes from Islandmagee Presbyterian Church. bbc.in/4pqduF7

Amongst the large crowds of people at the National Ploughing Championship in Tullamore, it was great to meet up again with Heather Humphreys, one of the candidates to be the next President of #Ireland @NPAIE #ploughing2025 2/4

This afternoon I had the pleasure of having lunch with Mayor Ruairi McHugh & the deputy Mayor Niree McMorris. During lunch we discussed a number of key issues facing Derry & Strabane Council. I commend the valuable work they & the council are doing.

Had a wonderful time with An Garda Siochana, in Letterkenny. Thanks to Supt David Kelly & his colleagues for the warm welcome & positive engagement. I expressed the thanks of our Church to those who serve in the Garda throughout the state.
