@therealchrisgo @MLFootball That’s false. You’re conflating a rule change with a hypothetical erroneous ruling.

@PCKRZ13 @MLFootball In February 2018, the NFL Competition Committee reached a unanimous agreement that the play should have been ruled a catch

THE PLAY THAT CHANGED #NFL HISTORY: When the refs ruled Dez Bryant’s spectacular catch incomplete against the #Packers in the 2014 Divisional Round. Years later, the league admitted that it was a catch. Dallas lost… they could have won a Super Bowl 😳

This is the ultimate midwit healthcare take. No, 32 countries have not “figured out” universal healthcare. The UK has “free” healthcare, and roughly 1 in 3 cancer patients in England still fail to start treatment within 62 days of urgent referral. Canada has “free” healthcare, and the median wait for neurosurgical treatment is around a year. Australia has “free” healthcare, and over half the country still buys private insurance despite paying for a public universal system with their taxes. Switzerland has universal coverage, because residents are required to buy private insurance. There is no government system where benevolent bureaucrats tuck you in at night with a warm blanket and an MRI appointment. The actual lesson from other wealthy countries is not “they figured it out.” America’s system has huge problems. Our prices are insane, insurance markets are distorted, and hospital systems are cartelized. Our regulations make care more expensive than it needs to be. Yet we still guarantee access to even the 8% who don’t have coverage. We give easy routes to qualify for medicaid for those with disabilities. Pretending the rest of the world solved healthcare because they slapped the word “universal” on a rationing scheme is not analysis. It is bumper sticker policy for people who think access means having a card in your wallet while you wait a year to see the doctor you need.
daz@MetamateDaz

Free Universal Healthcare is so complicated and expensive that only 32 of the 33 wealthiest countries in the world have figured it out.

@S_U_Network You guys who call Favre overrated didnt watch 90s NFL. Not one individual who followed the league considered Favre overrated. He was the consensus best QB and probably him or Sanders were considered best NFL player for about a 5 year period. Brees has never been considered that

@S_U_Network Zero chance Brees wins a SB in the 90s in GB. Zero chance he gets an MVP in a much tougher era than the one he played in. ZERO. Just not tough enough to play in that era and those elements to rhat level of success.

@Peter_Bukowski Doubs/Wicks health mitigated the impact of those injuries. I have a lot of confidence in Golden and Williams, but the cushion is not there as much as it was last year.

Christian Watson played 10 games Jayden Reed played 7 games Tucker Kraft played 8 games And the Packers offense was 4th in EPA/play. You don't even need to project GREAT health for the offense to be really good. What are we doing here?

I do not want a walkable city. I do not want trains. I do not want busses. I want a car that can take me anywhere I want at any time. I don't want to be dependent on transit schedules. I want to choose who I'm traveling with, rather than going for luck of the draw. I want to be able to control my own climate while traveling. I want to be guaranteed a comfortable seat. I want somewhere to keep my things during a day out instead of having to carry everything with me. I want to buy and take home loads of groceries too big to carry without having to trouble myself with delivery services. I want to go through drive thrus. I want to be halfway home from work and impulsively decide to go to a restaurant on the other side of town and just change direction immediately. I want to drive around a new city to take in more than I could on foot or on a fixed route. I want to do road trips where we make up our journey as we go. I want to explore my own city at will without any particular plan. I want to visit small towns out of reach of even the most expansive proposed public transit systems. Essentially, I want freedom.

@powerfred3k @goudakunst Packers lost that game because they played like shit. Not because of the GM. Accept it. Life lesson for free: Don’t go through life blaming other people every time your ego gets hurt.

Wrong, packers lost by 5 so they needed one touchdown to win against bucs. Any positive contribution by anyone who the packers would have drafted in 1st round that would have been on the field would have likely tipped the scales in packers direction. I continue to say Patrick Queen is that guy, and they should have drafted him. Even if they let him walk when his rookie contract was up like the ravens did.

If you account for Brady vs Rodgers at roughly the same juncture in their careers you’d get this: Brady has 38 less TDs but already has 38 more picks - despite this, Brady has 33 more wins and 4 super bowls.

@powerfred3k @goudakunst Right. That extra rookie was going to make Rodgers, Jones, King, Billy Turner etc not shit the bed. Gutey did his job as GM. The players themselves continuously f-d up and lost they game for themselves

@PCKRZ13 @goudakunst Yes that would have worked as well. Any football player that would have been on the field and make a positive impact on that 2020 nfc championship game. Instead of Jordan Love keeping the bench warm with a clipboard in his hands.

What sucks is the packers beat the bucs the next year in regular season 14-12. If the dogshit gm gutekusnt would have drafted a player that made a positive impact in 2020 for that nfc championship game, packers would have won. If gutekunst would have added more help in free agency he could have still drafted love and the packers would have likely beat the bucs. If the packers would have defeated the bucs, they would have defeated the injury plagued chiefs that year in the superbowl.

@Peter_Bukowski @DianteLeeFB @bomani_jones Counting stats are like the 5th most consequential thing when considering who gets in and who doesn’t. Counting stats will always increase as the game evolves. Counting stats mean you played pretty well, probably above average, for a long time. They do not define greatness.

@DianteLeeFB I don’t disagree! But I think @bomani_jones is right that recency bias has caused a LOT of history to be rewritten around Stafford specifically. Ironically, Stafford’s best HOF case from his Lions time is statistical volume.

I think we all need to be freed from the shackles of whether any player is a first ballot HOFer anymore. Especially on offense, where the explosion of passing numbers is going to cause a significant backlog in offensive candidates.
Peter Bukowski@Peter_Bukowski

When Stafford was in Detroit, he was seen as a tier below the Big Ben/Rivers/Romo level of QBs, nevermind the Peyton/Brady/Rodgers group. The idea he deserves to be first-ballot HOFer now is absolute nonsense. He’s closer to Rich Gannon and Matt Ryan than Brady/Rodgers

Ted Thompson was a cheap sob. His last couple yrs was rough. - trading back from a guaranteed stud pass rusher in tj watt for Kevin King. - drafting datone jones ahead of DeAndre Hopkins - drafting Randall/Rollins at back to back cbs 1st/2nd picks - ignorance not using free agency more/trade market more People forget Gutekunst had to overturn this roster from 🤢 to 🍀

So if Jimmy Kimmel starts sniffling on air about his son’s life-threatening condition, is it fair game for another comedian to joke that he should be excited to finally turn the kid’s room into a man cave? After all, it’s just a joke.
