Second time round, I passed the Sgt exam. Failing by 0.7% last time was gutting, but keeping your chin up and going again has reaped the result. Best of luck to all taking the exam, a fail isn’t the end 👊 never give up 💙

The Sgt exam results came out today, unfortunately I failed. I scored 52%. Close but still so far. Nevermind. We move on and try again.

@Brick_Cop @metpoliceuk Retention and recruitment of detectives is a massive national issue as well. Every force holds dozens to hundreds of vacancies. Might not feel like it’s an issue if you’ve only served uniform, but it’s bleak here as well.

As we come to the close of 2023, some reflections: Things *are* improving. 7% pay rise. New, well made uniform. More dismissals & arrests of bad apples. But there’s a lot more to be done. Retention is the elephant in the room. We need Cops to want to stay. #ThinBlueLine 💯🚨
