@CordUpTime You blame the “loser points” but don’t acknowledge that they finished 11th in the East in regulation wins (29)? 30+ percent of their wins came in 3 on 3 or shootout. The system is broken for sure; but you only told half the story.

If Geno Smith signed with any almost any other team the reaction would’ve been positive. He was their best option. He’s not a bad quarterback. They made the right move.

AG has a lot to prove in Year 2, no question about it. But it’s alarming how so many can’t see that this team has been actively tanking since the TD. If AG was in any danger, Cook would not have started down the stretch (along with shutting down most of the team) @BadlandsTOJ
Brett Kollmann@BrettKollmann

Not sure Aaron Glenn survives this. I know it's only been a year, but their average point differential in the last five weeks of the season is -28.4 PER GAME...and this game isn't even over yet.

@OhRyanMead I’m a huge fan of Fox and believe he’s a top-5 d-man in NHL. But on this team his role will quite literally be played by Quinn Hughes. If he’s not going to play top offensive minutes and QB the PP, it’s understandable to want to add the size and length needed to defend Canada

I'm not trying to stir shit. I'm just mind blown that Chris Drury, Mike Sullivan and David Quinn are on the team USA staff AND not a single one of them could convince the final decision maker Bill Guerin to have a top 3 NHL defenseman in Adam Fox make the roster. Insanity.

@JCaporoso It is frustrating how so many fans want to have it both ways: Insist on gutting the roster to load up on picks, continue to lose, but only if every game is lost by one-possession, otherwise this new regime must be garbage. As you said in 12-pack, someone will always be furious.

Ugly hours yesterday and likely closing the season with five straight 20+ point losses is not enjoyable for anybody, a few things I'll toss out that are not so bleak before tomorrow night's pod 1 - These final 5 games are what pure, aggressive tanking looks like. This is a practice squad roster at the moment with an incapable QB being thrown to the wolves. If you are pro-tank and big into "the Jets always mess this up late in the season," they have done literally everything possible to ensure they lose all their December and January games and pick somewhere in the top 3. If you were killing them for winning 3 of 5 midyear, then don't kill them for controlling what they can control to prevent that. 2 - I know everyone is a bit antsy about the OL after yesterday. It was not their best game but hard to emphasize just how frequently the sacks were on Cook, both in terms of pocket presence and not properly setting protections. The OL is the least of the Jets problems and they have 4 players coming back next year you should feel good about with reasonable paths to filling the 5th spot. 3 - Unfortunately the rest of the offense becomes sour milk when the QB situation is like it is right now. Despite that, I do think Mitchell's has looked the part and will be a meaningful part of next year's offense (they still need a high end addition to the group). Isaiah Williams is your returner and depth gadget player. Metchie is a perfectly solid backup. 4 - I generally expect Breece back and while it has been frustrating at times, he is getting better at getting tough yards and converting in short yardage. He is a capable RB1 and I am not sure you want to spend time, energry and resources at replacing him when you need at least a linebacker, a safety, an edge, another WR, a guard and of course a QB. 5 - They have been bad this year but there has been no half measure on the post Rodgers/Saleh/Douglas gutting. No team in the NFL has more assets over the next two offseasons than NYJ between first round picks, second round picks and cap space. We are all tired of hearing that but if you are bottoming out, bottom out so you have many shots on net as possible.

"It is almost impossible for it go on like this for this long." @ConnorJRogers vents on another lost #Jets season.

@ehornick wondering if you can dig this one up. In how many games have #NYR had a 2-goal lead this season (not including ENG)? Wonder where it would rank league-wide? Feels like even when they do win, an extended lead is so rare

@MrWhite1079 @JLazzy23 “Irrelevant tournaments” is odd way to describe being a top player on title-winning teams at the highest levels. If you are suggesting that Buium was some kind of role player on those teams, sit this one out. Over point/game player as both 18 and 19 y/o on NCAA champion

@JLazzy23 Is this a joke? Going by your standards, you’d put Pat Maroon in the HOF. Again, Buium is a good player but thinking he’ll be a stud because he won championships during his amateur career and irrelevant tournaments is a very flawed and lazy breakdown.

@DailyFaceoff @JLazzy23 @ColbyCohen36 @FriedgeHNIC Someone needs to tell me what Zeev Buium has done so far in his career that merits all these praises? He’s very solid on the PP, where the vast majority of his points come from but at even strength, he’s average at best. The potential is there but let’s pump the brakes here lol

@JLazzy23 Sullivan almost always plays Panarin first shift after a successful PK, with whatever line is up next. In that case it was Mika’s line #NYR

Noticed this too, one of those shifts was right after the #Smashville goal which was on the PP, but definitely interesting.

#NYR have been shut out 5 times in first 7 home games this season. Over the previous 4 seasons, they were shut out 6 times total in 185 home games (including playoffs). Hard to comprehend how this happens @JLazzy23 @610Barstool
