You could make a pretty strong argument that they actually found evidence of microbial life on Mars in the 1970s that was dismissed/covered up. So it’s interesting that they’re ready to make this announcement now. I suspect it’s part of a greater story that will unfold in the coming years and decades.

Of course there's life on Mars, this has been known since we detected seasonal methane well over a decade ago. A couple scientists even did a study just reviewing NASA's images and clearly showed bacteria growing on the rover and possibly fungi. As per usual, you're told to ignore what you see with your own eyes and blindly trust authority. If there's life on Mars, life is abundant in the Universe.
