@joe3jax I have been told that Dye was supposed to be a standalone, walking-with-caddies club with a clubhouse where the big house between 1 tee and 18 green now sits. That would have been really cool.

It’s is a vintage Fazio style of the 1980s. I think George. So better. More of the lagoons and lopes around w homes set back a bit. It was tighter than the PGA development. I played pga village when it opened and when there were few houses around the North or South and none close to the Dye.

@TimGavrich If he misses the shot and Kentucky gets the rebound, the game is most likely headed to OT. They had no timeouts left. They got a better look after the made basket than they would on a miss. The kid made a 1-in-100 shot.

After Oweh tied the game with 10 seconds left in regulation, it was insane that Santa Clara didn’t call timeout when they crossed half court. Yeah they hit a 3 to go up 3 before this shot, but a proper play-call would have set up a shot as time expired. Bad coaching IMO.

@MarkGodich I hear you on the OReb potential, but it’s risky because it’s far from guaranteed. Shooting at the end of the clock gives SC 100% control over their destiny in that scenario. I’d rather head to OT on my own miss than another team’s desperation make.

@MarkGodich It just seems that when you have ball in hand with a chance to win the game, it’s reckless to do anything that could conceivably give the other team a chance to win. If Graves bricks that 3, then Oweh’s is the winning shot. As it was, it tied the game and gave UK all momentum.

Nice little free dribble and step for Oweh before the clock finally started!

@joe3jax I’ve played the Trails, a decent and tricky G. Fazio ‘70s joint. I haven’t played Legacy but have heard it’s along similar lines.

Have you played the legacy course which is inside the PGA Village, at the end of the north end of the property up reserve drive. It’s was always a nice change of pace, old Florida golf. The PGA Village also had the old St Lucie West course available, they called it the country club, thinks it trails now. That was down the road, it was super tight and a tough task in the wind.

@joe3jax I think it’s still #3 in a lot of members’ minds, which is crazy because it is a vastly superior golf course to both Wanamaker and Ryder, which are solid but not really special.

@TimGavrich Funny you say that about the Dye course at PGA Village. In early 2000’s when it opened it was by far the least played of the three. Nobody wanted to play it, so it was always easy to get out. I must have over 100 rounds logged on that course as a result. Times change.

Played a college event there. Can confirm - very tough.
