#Physed community I want your thoughts. If Ss complete a skill using their own unorthodox approach, to high levels of success should they recieve a lower grade for not applying teacher directed teaching points?
@CoachMatheson Haha the initial discussion was around tennis shots being adapted to suit a squash environment but moved away from that and became about skill teaching in general
@PEwithKE Great question! I mean, as long as they’re being safe, not putting others at risk, and are achieving the outcome, it sounds successful to me!
Super curious to know the skill and how the student is completing it 😉
@PEwithKE You have no argument from me.
By doing this you celebrate agency.
You move to learning environments that are now open AND more importantly collaborative. This helps grow Self Determination. The next consideration is the mechanisms to celebrate & support all this.
@MrlycettPE Was having a discussion with a colleague and I tend to agree with you. Teaching points for me are a means of access to the skill, how Ss adapt/improve/evolve it to fit their playstyle is up to them. Especially if it gets them higher levels of success!
G6 Handball today🤾🏻♀️
1) @LockettMeg 's ideas on student agency allowed Ss to choose how they managed their time
&
2) @JeffZownir's 4 baskets game; Ss attack four goals, each team has 3 lives if they concede 3 they're out!
Thank you both & #PHASE - already having an impact!
Thanks for having me @PHASEglobal I learned from so many amazing practitioners this past weekend. Anyone that came to a session of mine - extra thanks for popping by - much appreciated. #naturebasedPA#Laban#UDL#FMS#physed
