Relocating and confining street dogs isn’t just cruel; it’s scientifically flawed. Research shows removing dogs from familiar territories triggers aggression and increases bite incidents. With no government shelters and an estimated annual cost of ₹33,872 crore for feed alone, shelters are an impossible "solution". Tomorrow, we urge the Supreme Court to uphold the only scientific path: Sterilization (ABC) and Vaccination. #SupremeCourtofIndia #StreetDogsOfIndia #justicefordogs

Disasters don’t just displace people; they inflict large-scale misery on animals that disrupts livelihoods and public health. Our current policy landscape relies on scattered state SOPs without a unified national guideline. The path forward is clear. We need a comprehensive All-Hazards Framework that fully integrates the protection of all animals into India’s disaster management architecture. Institutional Alignment, Data-Driven Preparedness, Standardized Response, and One Health Security will all be addressed through @ndmaindia’s efforts - building a system where preparedness and mitigation are a priority and recovery includes long-term disease surveillance. This is about safeguarding India’s economy as well as our humanity. Hopeful for a future where every single life is accounted for. 🇮🇳 #AIDRR #OneHealth #DisasterResilience #India #NDMA @PFAppf @pfaindia

Gadhimai, a festival held every five years in Bariyarpur, Nepal, is a horrifying spectacle of mass animal slaughter. Lakhs of buffaloes, goats, pigeons, pigs, and roosters are killed in the name of tradition, with the next butchery set for December 7th. @pfaindia and @IndiaHSI have fought tirelessly for over a decade to end this cruelty. While we’ve reduced the numbers, less bloodshed is not victory. This year, with unwavering support from @Manekagandhibjp ji and the profound guidance of @Advait_Prashant ji, we met with Bihar’s Chief Secretary. The state government has assured action to curb illegal animal transport across the porous Indo-Nepal border and to discourage religious slaughter. Our teams will be on the ground, assisting in the implementation of the Supreme Court’s directives (WP 881 of 2014). We urgently need volunteers to patrol key border areas like East Champaran, West Champaran, and Sitamarhi. If you can’t join us physically, amplify our call—speak up against this barbaric ritual in the land of Buddha’s compassion. Together, let’s bring an end to this archaic brutality. @officecmbihar @BiharTakChannel @News18Bihar @bihar_police
