We know from our research that low-income consumers are disproportionately affected by higher car insurance premiums. Research conducted earlier this year with @PFRC_uk showed that the car insurance poverty premium can be over £500 each year.

Advice services can alleviate financial hardship or prevent future spirals (in a more sustained way than food-based responses alone), but many will continue to struggle due to factors such as high rents, essential costs, insufficient income from social security and low earnings

We independently evaluated the money matters advice and support services provided through @TrussellUK food banks. The evaluation provides insights not only for Trussell, but for others providing advice and support services, those who fund services, and policy makers.

🧵 Did you know that food banks provide advice with money matters? Alongside emergency parcels, food banks provide practical support to people who've been left without enough money to live on. When someone is going through a tough time, this support helps to take pressure off.

New report from @WhichUK finds that many people experience at least one problem in their claims process. The research also found that insurers’ behaviour had a direct impact on customers’ physical/mental health with 31% saying insurers' actions made them feel more stressed.
Which?@WhichUK

We’ve uncovered shocking failures from insurance firms – and almost half of all people making a claim experience a problem Insurance companies won't improve unless the regulator clamps down on badly behaving firms. #EndTheInsuranceRipOff which.co.uk/news/article/w…

Twice as many people believe spending on public services should be increased even if it means tax rises for h/holds like theirs (56%), than agree taxes should be reduced for h/holds like theirs, even if it meant less spending on public services (24%) financialfairness.org.uk/en-gb/news-and…

New vlog👇At last night’s leaders debate no one mentioned the appalling levels of hunger & hardship @TrussellTrust sees across the UK. 3.1 million emergency food parcels last year - it can’t go on. Every party needs a plan to change it. #GeneralElection trusselltrust.org/get-involved/c…

At #BPI2024. Clear evidence of rising financial insecurity from @SharonBCollard. Colours clearly show a rising tide of insecurity. Chimes with @jrf_uk's cost of living tracker.
