Bucky Brooks on Daniel Jeremiah's podcast: "Jon-Eric Sullivan, son of Jerry Sullivan, one of the best WR coaches we've ever seen in the league." Almost verbatim. This is why the Packers never take WRs in the 1st round... because they can scout well enough to hit on prospects further down in the draft. Then obviously they were confident in coaching them up. Pretty confident in 43 being the first potential spot we could see Miami go WR. If they love a guy it's possible at 11 or 30, but I think it's rather unlikely. I could see Miami trading back from 30 a handful of spots and getting ahead of the expected early Day 2 runs on WR. I think a more likely scenario is using one those 3rd RDers and moving up from 43 to get one they really like. I lean this way because I think 30 will go to an Edge player if they don't get one at 11. The Packers have a strong history of moving around at the end of the 1st and in the 2nd Round. One thing Sully has not done yet, is gain any 2027 capital and I think that's something to monitor and something he wants to change. Obviously impossible to predict draft night but using everything I know, I think that's roughly where I'd bet my money if I had to.

Miami imported Falcons kicking set between Zane Gonzalez & Bradley Pinion. Gonzalez a long-FG specialist, was 60% at 50+ even before k-ball rule changes, then set a career mark 7 of 9 (incl. one blocked) from 50+ in 2026. Pinion is a hang time specialist on kickoffs & punts - important w/ the new kickoff format. I’ve talked before about how PKs with range and kickoff skills could get paid, based on rule changes. These moves tell me the Dolphins are exploring the changed landscape intelligently and creatively.

Roster Move | We have signed punter Bradley Pinion as an unrestricted free agent.

I asked Salyer, one of a quartet of Dolphins who visited with us today, about his skills that are well suited to guard. "I've got the measureables of a guard, play strength, having short area quickness. I've seen a lot of things [defensive looks] - saw a lot with coach [Jesse] Minter" - the former Chargers DC and now Ravens head coach. He said "I'm very physical" and that was "instilled" in him at Georgia and playing for Jim Harbaugh in LA.
Barry Jackson@flasportsbuzz

Per source, Dolphins plan to give OT/OG Jamaree Salyer a chance to win a starting guard spot. That's one reason he chose Miami over higher offers elsewhere. If Salyer wins a starting guard job, then the other starting guard would be Jonah OR a draft pick OR perhaps Andrew Meyer OR another UFA pickup. Heck would be No. 3 tackle in this scenario.

Not only will that $20 M sign a draft class, but there will be a bit of money left to sign fall-through-cracks free agents at need positions that aren't addressed in the draft (even more so if Brooks or Brewer extensions). I've been struck by swiftness, decisiveness in action with the new Dolphins regime. This sentence has nothing to do with politics, but the Sullivan regime reminds me of the line that Penn. Governor Josh Shapiro uses all the time that his administration likes to "get [expletive] done." There's no slow-playing with this group. They attack things quickly. Hopefully their drafts will yield a bunch of good players.
Barry Jackson@flasportsbuzz

To be able to sign 30 players (including Willis)&deal with the cap consequences of the Waddle trade, Tyreek release and Tua release and the Ramsey/Armstead dead money, and still be positioned to have $20 M in cap space June 2 is impressive considering the tough spot they were in
