The club not even speaking to no, when the new leadership team has been in place for three months, is ridiculous. Would also suggest (as would Chiesa’s signing) that they won’t be rushing to offer him 2/3 years

Ordinarily, a 32 year old coming to the end of their deal wouldn’t be an issue for me. But this is @MoSalah - one of Liverpool’s greatest ever players and someone in incredible condition with 2/3 years left at the top easily

@mashed_7 Not even half of his wages off the books and strengthening a team that they should see as a rival, is in my opinion terrible business. Come next summer when he comes back he will be 30 and still with years to run on his huge contract

Incredible that Chelsea would allow Sterling to sign for Arsenal, especially on loan.

Sterling: Obviously getting Arsenal to pay, at best, £10m of Chelsea’s annual £30m (wage plus amortisation) cost has some attraction. But where is the bigger picture win? Surely Chelsea see Arsenal as a rival. So if he works, they lose on the pitch and, potentially, commercially too. If he fails, he returns at 30 (31 in Dec 25) with 2 years of £20m a year left on his contract (and £20m book value) effectively unable to play for Chelsea (or City, Liverpool and Arsenal). So poorly handled from a football business perspective.

Thiago, Matip, Clark, Van Den Berg, Carvalho, Bajetic and Philips out with Chiesa coming in. I hope that there are contract extensions lined up and even if there are, to give a new manager one new player and none for the positions really needed is shocking really

Very pleased with Chiesa signing, but no midfielder added (I don’t think CB is as desperate as others) to the squad would be very disappointing as you just know there will be portions of the season when the reds are light in the engine room

There is only an upside here. Half of what we got for Carvalho for a 26 year old who was touted as £80m+ not too long ago. If it works, even as an impact/squad player, it’s incredible business. If it doesn’t, he goes back to Italy or Saudi for £15-20m in two years.

My dad came to the UK as a child, the eldest of 6 in a single parent family. Worked whilst caring for siblings, then went on to become a fireman. Suffered terrible injuries then relaunched his career on the tech side of fire fighting before retirement. Legend @Macflamz ❤️
