The tears, the outrage, the protests. Truly moving. Oddly enough, this passion was nowhere to be found when women were being locked in cells with convicted male rapists. No statements. No campaigns. No screaming headlines. Complete silence. But of course, that’s different. Those women were ordinary. Often working class. Inconvenient. Whereas these activists are middle class, their cause is fashionable, they have pronouns, and they apparently deserve not only sympathy but immunity from consequences. If you’re middle class and you brutalise a woman in the name of the right ideology, people will line up to explain why it’s complicated. If you’re a working-class woman harmed by policy, you can safely rot out of sight. Compassion, it turns out, is highly selective.

Welcome to Sadiq Khan's London during Christmas. We went to Winter Wonderland and it was awful. Everything is tailored to muslims to such an extent that most people at this so-called Christmas venue were muslim. I struggled to find any British person, let alone non-halal food. Most of the staff from the security guards to the ticket operators to the food stalls to the wardens to the box office are also muslim. Before 2020 most people at these markets were either British or European. And now everyone is from islamic countries, every second person is a hijabi woman. There is no Christianity left her.
