It's deeply ironic - and frankly infuriating - that the royal family's most notorious leeches and grifters, the Yorks and Sussexes, have always aggressively demanded HRH styles and prince/princess titles for their children, while other royals selflessly chose the exact opposite. Princess Anne declined the late Queen's offer to give Peter and Zara the HRH style and courtesy titles at birth. She believed that growing up without titles would give them greater freedom to forge normal lives and careers, free from royal obligations. Similarly, The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh agreed with the late Queen that Lady Louise and James would be styled as the children of an earl rather than as HRH prince and princess. Although both children retain the legal right to adopt the higher styles upon turning 18, neither has chosen to do so. In stark contrast, Harry and Meghan's children are being raised thousands of miles away in California, completely detached from the UK and Commonwealth, estranged from the royal family - yet the Sussexes greedily seized the prince/princess titles and HRH styles for Archie and Betty the instant they became eligible. Andrew and Fergie, meanwhile, ensured Beatrice and Eugenie used their princess and HRH styles from birth. Andrew repeatedly pushed for royal perks, including an extravagant carriage procession at Eugenie's wedding and taxpayer-funded security (withdrawn in 2011). He also fought unsuccessfully for his daughters to be working royals, a plan blocked by the then Prince of Wales's vision for a slimmed-down monarchy. The monarchy is fortunate to have members who put duty and service first, recognising that the institution exists to serve the public and highlight worthy causes. The Yorks and Sussexes are the polar opposite: entitled, insatiable, forever extracting every possible benefit from their royal connections while giving absolutely nothing of value in return. It's long overdue for the royal family to cut them loose entirely - titles, styles, and all.
