At @cadoganhall this evening for @ChelseaOpera Group’s concert performance of Edouard Lalo’s Le Roi d’Ys (1888), which I’m looking forward to hearing for the first time. @PJWingfield conducts a cast that includes @TDHopkinson, Maria Schellenberg, Hye-Youn Lee and @LuisGomestenor

Impressive performance of an unjustly neglected piece from @chelseaopera Group @cadoganhall tonight. Strong work from the orchestra & valiant chorus with solid and committed principals, all under the firm leadership of @pjwingfield. Bravi tutti!

The flip side of these kind of opportunities is that our conductor, Tabita is down with a bug and I can imagine the frustration of missing such a big day. Sending her strong thoughts and best wishes!

An unexpected day - I found myself in front of the Philharmonia with seven minutes notice conducting the Sitz for ’Le nozze di Figaro’ at Garsington. Totally joyous day conducting my No. 1 piece with a world class orchestra and cast. My thirties are ending well!
