Even Dangote, the richest man in Africa needs more visas across Africa than a Western tourist! Rwanda’s visa-free policy for Africans is already paying off, prompting more African countries to join the shift.

I was delighted to be hosted to a working dinner at the conclusion of the Africa CEO Forum which took place in Kigali, Rwanda by Rwanda's Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E Olivier J. P. Nduhungirehe, with Amb. Moses Rugema, Rwanda's High Commissioner to Nigeria, and other government officials in attendance. It was another great opportunity to re-evaluate and advance strategies towards strengthening our bilateral cooperation. Minister Nduhungirehe also expressed Rwanda’s appreciation for Nigeria’s visa waiver for Rwandan nationals, as a positive step towards advancing our shared continental objectives. The Nigerian delegation to Kigali for the Africa CEO Forum extends their profound appreciation to the Government and people of Rwanda for their warm hospitality, a highly constructive engagement and a very memorable experience.

Important step forward for Rwanda’s nuclear energy plans. Together with @RwandaInfra’s @Dr_JimmyGasore, signed an @IAEAorg/@RwandaGov agreement to strengthen cooperation on integrating nuclear energy into Rwanda’s energy mix, including SMRs. The agreement covers support on energy planning, infrastructure development, training, stakeholder engagement, financing and capacity building as 🇷🇼 moves forward with its plans.

Important exchange with President @PaulKagame on the margins of #NEISA2026 on Rwanda’s ambitious nuclear power plans, including SMRs. We reviewed 🇷🇼’s progress in preparing the foundations for nuclear power, as outlined in the @IAEAorg’s INIR report that I delivered today, from public outreach to emergency preparedness. Rwanda can count on the IAEA as it moves forward with its nuclear energy programme.
