Most people don’t realise where the £180 million actually went at the A303 Stonehenge tunnel project. It wasn’t construction. It was years of: • Environmental impact assessments • Heritage & archaeological studies • Legal challenges and consultations • Design, engineering and traffic modelling • Public inquiries and revisions All before a single shovel hit the ground. This is the real problem in Britain: We don’t just waste money, we build systems that guarantee it. £180 million to build nothing.

The A303 Stonehenge tunnel has been scrapped after years of planning. £180 million. Gone. Not a single mile built. Not a single benefit delivered. Just taxpayer money burned. Who is actually held accountable for this?

15 years ago I built Britain’s first electric car, the Nemesis - and a national network of chargers (The Electric Highway) for the electric cars that were coming. All we had back then was 3kW chargers, like a three pin plug and it took hours. But I knew that would change and I foresaw a time when we could charge an electric car in the time it takes at the petrol pump. Within ten years we had 300kW chargers and now, five more years on the Chinese are making MegaWatt class chargers that’s 1,000kW plus - and EV charging is possible in the same time it takes to fill a petrol car. Fantastic progress. The age of the internal combustion engine is over, it began to end 15 years ago. It will be fully over in another 15. thetimes.com/uk/transport/a…

@RichardBurgon Doesn’t help we’ve spent 500 million on gender reassignment over the past few years!

Over a decade of Tory underfunding of our NHS has left far too many people receiving "corridor care". NHS staff are warning that this is dangerous and undignified for patients. Great to join campaigners recently to call for the investment and action needed to end this scandal.

As of today, the cruel two-child limit is no more. This Labour government is delivering the biggest ever reduction of child poverty in a single Parliament.

Great news that greyhound racing will be banned in Wales! Pushing dogs to their limits for entertainment and profit leaves many with life‑changing injuries - and too often an early death. Westminster should follow suit and call the last lap on greyhound racing.

With greyhound racing banned in Wales yesterday & Scotland vote tonight British horse racing needs to wake up, end its isolationist approach, & work with the GBGB on a joint strategy against the activists. Otherwise its Greyhound racing > Jumps > Flat.

We live in Rip Off Britain. We have to lower people's bills and tax wealth fairly. This morning I'll be starting to lay out our vision of how to do this. theguardian.com/politics/2026/…

So the greyhound ban has passed in Wales. Really sad how this has come about but Judicial Review decision next week which must have a chance. No way to make legislation and ban something which affects so much. Still can’t forgive the BHA approach when this all started too

@BBCNews Was a cold spell after Xmas for a week and the roads literally fell apart. The companies surfacing the roads haven’t really got a great incentive to produce lasting highways, they’ve the ones who get paid millions to fill the pot holes and eventually replace them, easy money!
