In both professional snooker tournaments where there has been a break in excess of 147, another player made a 147 in the televised or final stages.

@lewispirnie @richardosman @TNCargill David Gray did get the high break and maximum break prizes for the 2004 UK Championship, as the break bonuses only counted during the final stages in York and not across the whole tournament (as it would do now)

The final 7 frames in the Ronnie v Thepchaiya final weren't too shabby.

After a very entertaining and history making World Open this week, the Snooker tour passes one of its significant milestones of the season. For the rest of the season, all matches are at least two sessions long. 🙂

@TNCargill @richardosman Its obviously extremely rare as its only happened twice in the hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of professional snooker frames ever played, but he won't get the high break prize for it, the same as that Ronnie won't get the maximum break prize for the 153.

@richardosman and no high break bonus for Thepchaiya either! or do you think they will, given the rarity of a 148+

I know Wednesday are having an incredibly tough time at the minute... but I swear its not 21 years since they last picked up three points.

@MrNeale92 An absolutely superb break - and one which can only ever be bettered by two more points to get a total maximum of 155 (should similar circumstances arise) Given its only the second ever professional break above 147, its hard to see when (if ever) this record may go.

I don't post about my work very often here. We do get some early starts but we also get to see some great views.

Australia and USA are the first two teams eliminated from contention. Scotland and Norway also now pretty much in a situation where they have to win their remaining games to have any remote chance of getting through.

....should have declared it at the time, on the night of the Final when Senegal walked off. By allowing the match to resume, CAF have allowed both teams to continue. I don't like saying this, but I wonder if this had been the outcome had Senegal not been up against the hosts...

Going to be interesting to see how this appeal unfolds. Senegal shouldn't have left the field during that final, whatever the qualms about the decision, and could have been considered to have forfeited at that point. However if CAF are seemingly taking this view, then it they...

Another important win for Scotland to stay in contention for the playoffs. Ideally 4 wins from the remaining 5 games needed to qualify (as 7-5 has always been enough to qualify for the playoffs since the event went to 13 teams and 6 playoffs in 2018.
