@HorrocksDavid Summer 82 and exactly that. I took a set-piece practice session and scored a free-kick with boot/ball connection that I only experienced once. The ball sailed into the top corner just as Bobby walked past. He dropped to the floor and gave me 10 sit-ups for it. RIP

A legend laid to rest today. RIP Sir Bobby. I went to his soccer school some 40+ years ago where this autograph book was signed. I still have the image of him in my mind. He spent days and long hours in amongst it all playing football having lunch etc. a truly wonderful chap

My last day at Burnley Football Club after almost 16 years, going to be emotional but have lots of memories with some great people.

@Gibbo1882 @DLRbrts Nice lad though. Came into the bank quite regularly. As you say, with the Prem promotion and doubled salary he got an extra year’s pay for his one appearance in three years.

@DLRbrts He quickly went on loan somewhere in Scandinavia, but apparently when we got promoted at the end of the season his wage more than doubled! I remember thinking all that premier league season that all our catering profits didn’t even pay his wage!
