After receiving some valid criticisms, I realized I definitely jumped the gun here. There’s definitely pros and cons to this situation, but at the end of the day, this is just a test and we have no idea when something like this will be implemented.

I hate this. Here’s some issues I have with it: 1. Overcrowding at the entrance of portals 2. It ruins the whole portal aesthetic 3. If I’m paying to be at Epic, I want my full experience

@PNDA_Music Everyone needs to just stop. This is a test. Can you imagine when the car was invented and people came out and had a problem with the idea of brakes since the thing could only go 5 mph?

1. Facial tech is super fast so I don’t foresee crowding
2. The portals were designed w this in mind.
3. It’s quite possible this will be free so if your paying to go in the portals you’re still getting the full experience

@Nauzi @AliciaStella There’s no stopping, you just walk on through. These work similarly to the express kiosks, but with more cameras. If your face has a red box a Team Member may stop you from entry

@1300golf @jake_coasters I was thinking this as well. Honestly this would be way more effective than checking each individual hotel key

Have we considered that they're testing this out for events (they are building a giant event center afterall).
Maybe we should wait to freak out about the "open hub" until it's actually official park policy

@PNDA_Music @Imagineer6 You wouldn’t need to stop you would just keep walking & there wouldn’t be a queue to enter. This will also help all guests exit the lands through the correct exit.

@Imagineer6 That’s true. I just think the scanners blocking and crowding the front of the portals looks really bad, but now that I think about it it’s not like there’s anywhere else for them to put the scanners. I just hope this doesn’t take away from the experience of paying guests.

@PNDA_Music We all knew the park was being designed to operate like this, it's not like this was a surprise. They didn't build the portals just to look cool, they had this purpose in mind. The wouldn't have built the portals at all if they knew they weren't going to be doing this

@Bentleys_Enigma Respectfully, I don’t like this at all. I get that companies would want to rent certain portals for events but if I’m paying to go to Epic, especially with its current high demand and cost, I want my full experience, not limited access. (Yes I know it’s just testing but still)

I will never forget the excitement I felt walking into this store for the first time and getting a first look at what Epic Universe had to offer! It’s bittersweet to see this store go, but I’m grateful for the introduction it gave me to what is now my favorite place ever ❤️
