.@JamesTCobbler visited a @nwprobation office and Bunbury House Approved Premises to meet our extraordinary staff and learn about the vital work they’re doing to protect the public and aid rehabilitation.

'When I was offered the job it made everything 10 times easier' Stewart Clarke served four and a half years for armed robbery and successfully secured a job whilst he was in jail under Iceland's Second Chance scheme to start when he was released.

Guess it’s time to change my Twitter handle again - as of today I am no longer an NQO! Where have those 9 months gone 😲

When I asked @peterwoolf57 ( someone I have learnt a lot from over the years) what message he would want to give to new trainee Probation Officers & Service Officers it was to never give up on people Why we do what we do #Probation

Being a Probation Officer is such a tough job, but sometimes progress with one case can carry you through the hard stuff. One of my lads has really struggled with alcohol-use but following a recent re-release after recall, his mindset has totally shifted. (1/5)

@helenl2611 I absolutely will do, probably in a little while as he is continuing to find his feet - but what an amazing job he is doing!

How impressive that someone can be going through all of that and not relapse. Obviously there’s still a long way to go but I’ll be here for him every step of the way, along with many other professionals who want to see his continued success. (5/5)

I saw him today and he still hasn’t touched any alcohol, which means he’s been able to provide invaluable support to his mum when she needs it most. I tell him every week, but I am so proud of his dedication and progress. (4/5)

Recently, out of the blue I got a call from @DKMS_uk - the charity that helps people with blood cancer. I'd forgotten that 5yrs ago I did a cheek swab... but the call was to say I was a possible match for someone in urgent need of stem cell or bone marrow transplant. It's a chance to help someone survive who wouldn't otherwise. Unfortunately, having just been through the next stage, I've been ruled out of donating. So to turn that into a positive, I wanted to suggest if you fancy registering to be a donor, if age 18 - 55 you can do it here... dkms.org.uk - and hopefully one of you may be the match that actually saves a life.

In a few weeks time I will be having my last day as a Probation Officer, what an amazing 8 years it has been. I’ve met some fantastic people who have inspired me. On to the next venture as a Senior Practitioner in Cheshire Youth Justice Service. #probation #yjs #newventure

"Just wanted to put in my thoughts. I'm a PQiP who is just finishing. I have never seen any other who have been "in it for the free degree". I have only ever met committed individuals with a passion for the role and wanting to help people." 1/4
