#Ghana 🇬🇭 / #UK 🇬🇧: When women blow the whistle, they confront more than an abuser. They confront systems built to protect power. In July 2023, an investigation by the @FinancialTimes detailed allegations of sexual abuse, labour violations, and a toxic workplace within the studio of architect David Adjaye. With @PPLAAF's support, three women came forward. More followed. Since then, despite sustained global media scrutiny and an ongoing audit connected to the National Cathedral of Ghana project, new commissions continue and reputations attempt to recover. Whistleblowers deserve accountability, not silence. By telling their stories, they hope to put a stop to these kinds of abuses. #RDC 🇨🇩: Notre Directeur exécutif, @KandeJimmy, s’est entretenu avec le Ministre d’État, Ministre de la Justice et Garde des Sceaux, @JusticeGouvCD, autour des enjeux cruciaux liés à la protection des lanceurs d’alerte en République démocratique du Congo, ainsi qu’au renforcement de la coopération judiciaire internationale. Cet échange a également permis d’aborder la nécessité de doter la RDC d’une législation efficace en matière de protection des lanceurs d’alerte, afin de garantir la sécurité de celles et ceux qui contribuent, par leurs révélations, à la défense de l’intérêt général, à la transparence et à la lutte contre la corruption.

#RDC 🇨🇩: Comment lutter efficacement contre la corruption si ceux qui dénoncent ne sont pas protégés ? Le réseau de parlementaires africains contre la corruption (#APNAC), avec l’appui de partenaires techniques dont @PPLAAF a organisé un atelier stratégique dédié à la finalisation de la proposition de loi sur la protection des lanceurs d’alerte en RDC. Cette initiative s’inscrit dans le besoin urgent de doter le pays d’un cadre juridique solide garantissant la sécurité de celles et ceux qui dénoncent des faits d’intérêt général. #RSA 🇿🇦: In April, the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development released the new Protected Disclosures Bill, open for public comment until 14 May. However, we cannot afford to mistake ambition for arrival — not when whistleblowing in South Africa continues to mean putting your life at risk. As such, @PPLAAF, @LRCSouthAfrica, and @OpenSecretsZA have developed a collective position paper endorsed by the Civil Society Working Group on State Capture (CSWG).
