April 2 marks the 10th anniv of the 2016 April Four-Day War. PRWB, with partner NGOs, filed complaints with @ECHR_CEDH over torture, executions & corpse desecration by Azerbaijani armed forces against civilians & POWs. 10 years later, there are still no final judgments.

On March 31, the Protection of Rights Without Borders (PRWB) NGO organized a discussion event in Yerevan to present the findings of its study on Judicial Practice in Cases of Violence and Ill-treatment in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.

“When you burst into a displaced mother’s home late in the evening over a year‑old Facebook comment that never led to any real‑world harm, it is very hard to argue this is about preventing violence,” PRWB legal expert Anna Melikyan's comment on the incident. More ⬇️

Carolina Bagrin is Programme Director at the Legal Resources Centre from Moldova (CRJM) and a senior legal expert with 15+ years of experience in European integration, human rights, equality law, and justice reform.

Lasha Tughushi is Director of the Liberal Academy Tbilisi Foundation and Professor at Tbilisi State University. A political scientist, Fulbright Fellow, and former Editor-in-Chief of the daily Resonance, he has +20 years of experience in media, public policy, and civil society.

Hasmik Harutyunyan is a legal professional with 15 years of experience in rule of law, judicial reform, & human rights. A practicing lawyer with a litigation experience, including cases before the ECHR, she also provides expert training on the European Convention on Human Rights.

Ilie Chirtoaca is the Executive Director of the Legal Resources Centre from Moldova (CRJM) & a senior legal researcher specializing in justice reform, judicial independence & anti-corruption. He has authored major reform studies & coordinated strategic litigation before the ECHR.

Ekaterine Tsimakuridze is a legal expert and civil society leader, formerly Executive Director of Democracy Index Georgia. Her work focuses on democratic oversight, anti-corruption, and judicial reform. She currently chairs the EP Civil Society Forum Georgian National Platform.

Araks Melkonyan is the President of Protection of Rights without Borders NGO & a human rights lawyer w/ 15+ years of experience in human rights protection, judicial monitoring, legal research &advocacy for justice reforms. She also coordinates strategic litigation before the ECHR
